    Nice episode.

Personally, I think Connor looks better with the shorter hair. I believe when he was hunted and now here in this episode he was shown with short hair.
Much more ascetically pleasing look for him I think.

Good episode. Though I would have like to seen Mark turn into an exploding body.

I mean when they were hunted by the military he had short hair. I think he needs short hair again. He just looks better.

Connor is my favorite. So I'm only making suggestions so he can look his best.

Wonderful stuff. Arkady's optimistic eyes are rather... unsettling. I know we've seen some harsh stuff so far in, but seeing young 'kady makes me curious to what (if anything) made her more cynical.

Ah, there's probably nothing there. It's hard not to read too much into 6 pages every week, along with Duffield's beautiful attn to micro-detail. Thank you for all this, guys.

Oh cute, lovely Connor. The age of 14 is really the only problem there... as for how you are now... well, my sweet, the problem is you're fictional. But other than that... *ahem* that was out loud wasn't it?

Ok then, rather nervous of the kaboom. But it wouldn't be an action packed FA episode if there wasn't something disquieting about it. Just as I pulled up the first page I was thinking, I wonder what would happen if the ring 'Kady brought to encircle Mark powered up and then the power was grasped by Mark. that would be bad for everyone, no? Well the flashback was a delight. Any little droplet of backstory is hugely welcome. And it works amazingly, beautifully well to see Mark the most idealistic. When idealists fall they fall motherfucking HARD.

There was a week? I'm sure I did some stuff. But I think it mostly came down to sleeping. finally done with my play so I need to think of my next Bold Move. I worked a tiny bit. Wrote a tinier bit. Cleaned a little, walked a little, argued with some people (mainly, person), and lined up work for myself that I desperately don't want to do but should so I can stop feeling like a huge fucking failure. Cheers!

Oh man. At fourteen, that really does make sense, doesn't it?

See, and fourteen wasn't all that long ago for me, but I'd completely forgotten about that kind if innocent arrogance. Took a forty-something guy to remind me of it. Whoever handles the back-issues department in your memory, Mr. Ellis, they're doing a bang-up job. Got that intention and the feeling of that exactly right.

Well, if a book of FREAKANGELS can take up a single day, devoting however many pages to a nanosecond(?) or microsecond(?) of time is not that big a deal. I'm just wondering if Mark is going to get full on physical bodily destruction so not even a molecule is left, or will they try mentally regressing him to a point where he's in no shape to harm anyone so he can start over.

@Indigo Rose--I haven't read the original THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, so I can't say how faithful the adaptation is to the book. But I will tell you it's a workmanlike but entertaining adaptation that mainly keeps the story focussed on the investigation of Harriet Vanger's disappearance. There are side bits involving Lisbeth's personal problems and it doesn't shy away from depicting her bisexuality. The film would probably get an R for its depiction of sexual violence. Noomi Rapace does an amazing job playing Lisbeth, but then she might not be others' imagined version of the character. BTW, I'd suggest you catch the foreign original. My guess is the threatened Hollywood adaptation will probably remove or neuter the leftist politics, pretty up and de-punk Lisbeth, and make her more emotionally dependent on Mikael. But who knows, maybe whoever does the adapting will seriously surprise me.

Oh sweet mother of mercy. How could Mark fall so far from what he wanted?

"We should do things to help people. Quietly, so no-one finds out."

Yeah, I'm dying to find out how Mark goes from that to "shut up ... focus on what i'm doing. it'll hurt less".

And I wonder if somehow that mindset isn't where Arkady and team are going to send him, mentally speaking.

I'd say "aw/ohfuck/kaboom" sums up my week nicely. Probably next week too.

Oh, incidentally, for future reference -- the 'kAngels' birthday is in summer. Good to know.

I just got it about the seventeenth time reading this week. The flashback was Arcady reprogramming Mark with her memory of his idealism--or maybe sharing it with him so he would realize why they have to do to him what they're doing to him. I hope not the first, because innocent idealism is never appreciated, always betrayed and leads (as I'm sure most of us here have experienced), to cynicism at best, or the thought that "fuck it--it just doesn't matter, I'll be out for myself like everyone else. If she reprogrammed him with unrealistic idealism, we'll have to go through all this all over again in the next four or five years.

Also, reading on Friday, I yearn for the next episode. Reading on Tuesday with only three days to go I JONES for the next episode. Happy, happy, joy, joy, on Friday I'll do the dance for joy.

Hate to put a damper on things, but this coming Friday is Good Friday and very likely a skip week...

@NakedCelt--you are a cruel human being. Besides, for things to be ready for Friday they were done ahead of time anyway.

"We should do things to help people. Quietly, so no-one finds out."
just struck me how this is not a hundred miles from the decision to mass mind control people - doing things to help people, quietly so they don't find out. Also not that from telling Kate to be quiet while he dabbles in her head.

And thinking along these lines if you want to see how badly wrong idealism can go watch this weather underground
