Mike Mignola's art style animated? You can't lose!
When the Wind Blows
I love the different animation techniques they employed. Also, seems there are quite a few post-apocalyptic movies, but few movies that take place during a nuclear attack.
Ralph Bakshi's Wizards
As a child Wizards cartoonish characters caught my attention, but the war and Nazi imagery left a lasting impression on my mind.
I see no mention of Bill Plympton yet, so here's a short clip from his feature-length Hair High. He did quite a few mtv shorts back in the day and is just an incredibly inventive animator. And how could I not post probably my favourite Ren & Stimpy. The immortal Space Madness.
Regarding an earlier comment, in my experience almost all animators work with a mirror by their desk. It's the easiest way to spot who the animators are when you walk into a games company...
Birdy Nam Nam video by Willy Sweeney Trailer for Christiane Cegavske's film Blood Tea and Red String. She also animated the birds from The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things I think this is one of my most favorite threads I've seen on here yet.
Well to start I just want to thank all of you for always delivering great things. And I hope I'm not repeating myself to much feel s like I already have mentioned most of what I like in one thread or another but here it goes:
Lets start with some pure childhood nostalgia that still manages to entertain my boring grown up self "Resan till Melonia" a version of The tempest by one of my all time favourite animators Per Åhlin. Resan till Melonia
This is a much later find Raoul Servais that often manages to make me think a bit after seeing on of his films. Operation X-70
And the last animator I would like to mention is Jurij Norstein he just makes stunning stuff. Hedgehog in the fog
This is an odd one because I'm not sure I really like the animation that much but somehow it compliments the story so perfectly so the hole becomes greater then its parts. The Man with the Beautiful Eyes
This film is so great because it manages to take something as dated as marionettes and manages to use them in a innovative way and tells a better story because of it. STRINGS
This is just a wonderfully crazy must see film. Mind Game
