@ DavidLejeune - Hell yeah! The "Paperman" short was amazing!
@ TF - aw, thanks for the BTB&tB shout out. I wish more people saw the show when it was originally airing. I miss working on that show...hell the entire crew does.
Because I LOVE the standy Batmobile and the way it turns, the space around it - it's just perfectly done - but I thought I'd get to the guts of Batman breaking the 4th wall with the HAMMERS OF JUSTICE!!! Because it's :-) :-I :-D :-( ;_;
I was put off BTB&tB initially by the lack of Hamill, Conroy and, most of all, the preceding The Bat-man which I tried to love but couldn't (The Edge's theme music didn't help - you're in U2 and you can't play guitar properly- stay away from Batman!!!) so I just figured me and the WB lived in different worlds.
Then I saw this: [from about a half hour in]
and I was - " 'the fuck is up Aquaman? " - and I found out - and my God what a great, great show Brave and the Bold is!
Maybe too few people saw the show when it was originally airing because the world wasn't ready to process how brilliant and bold it is. I love this show now and I still can't believe what I'm seeing in a Batman cartoon.
Detective Chimp!!!
-- and this is one of the best Batman moments going; any series, any time:
Kudos! Kudos for working on such a brilliant piece of the Bat-world!
If you have a lot of money and want to do some lasting good for humanity, buy the rights to this film and pay a good animation house to finish it properly (Richard Williams ran out of time and money when The Thief And The Cobbler was only 85% finished).
Soviet-era Russian Winnie the Pooh, or, as he is called over there "Vinni Puh" The 3 episodes can be found on Youtube. I find it way better than the Disney version.
And for something completely different, that raving maniac Paul Robertson ! You might recognize his style if you played the Scott Pilgrim video game for which he did a few animations, like :
@William - Ach! I missed the Brave & the Bold lovin', sorry! I did watch the series with much great love and tremendous sorrow when it ended. I kept the final episode on the DVR because GODDAMN. Brilliances.
