What about anything with Marvel's old horror properties? Tomb of Dracula and Werewolf by Night and such?
  1.  (7954.22)
Agatha Harkness, slightly redone to be a crazy old bat sitting at the heart of Marvel's magical world pulling strings and manipulating things as best she can.
  2.  (7954.23)
Shang-Chi, Master of Kung Fu (kung-fu superspy comics!)

Ka-Zar, Lord of the Savage Land (Tarzan punching dinosaurs in the face)

    Silver Sable?

All recently done/handled or otherwise spoken for.

Haven't seen a Blade comic for a while. Although, that said, I've heard booksellers talking about 'vampire fatigue', so maybe he could do with staying dormant for a decade or so.

Er... he was a Spiderman villain?
    Like Puma?
Not like Puma Man though. Shame you can't make a Marvel comic about that movie.

Does Marvel still own the Malibu stable of characters? Lost of room to play around with there.

Someone said Rom I think but you know I think that could have some potential, how about Dazzler, she still in use?

OK, I'll take up this diversion - I don't read a lot of Marvel, so I apologize if I'm not up to speed on what's being published. I just jumped over to Marvel Universe for some perusing.

Strong Women characters who could use the Warren Ellis touch:

    • A Remake of Ion could be very cool in your hands - establishing a strong, smart female never hurts.

    • Would Bendis allow you to play with his Alias character? Again, she's probably all in the background of Avengers, but I think you'd make a great (Jessica?) story.

    • You would make a killer Squirrel Girl story.. but I don't think they'd let you print it.

Things *you* could remake or treat with respect to make enjoyable

    • Batroc Ze Leaper - I could see some really sick, grim humor out of a character that's fucking retarded to begin with.

    • Cypher - the mutant - the adventures of a super-linguistic nerd - screams for a modern-day tale w/o super powers gimpsuits all around him

    • Remember Jim Lee's BodyShoppe art? If you ignore lady d-strike, you could probably do something with that.

    • Simonson's Malekith always seemed to be an awesome villain to me, never seen it since the Simonson run. Too bad Beta Ray Bill is so high profile, you'd rock on him.

Just bizarre shit I thought while I looked at Marvel characters
    • Has the Watcher done anything lately? (heh) You know, an entire comic of just him watching as the world blows up would be fucking funny and totally against the character's purpose

    • It, the Living Colossus and Shadu the Shady are starving for attention in a Fin Fang Foom kind of way

    • Officer Z.E.R.O. - from the MU page - "It was meant to be the police officer of tomorrow. It was supposed to save lives. When Doctor Thomas Rizzo created the Zone Enforcement Response Option construct, it was with the best intentions." - You could teach readers a thing or two with that one.

    • If you're in the mood for a western, the Two-Gun Kid is sitting out there wondering why John Woo hasn't called him

    • Andre Navarro's Doktor OctoCock is looking for some action, I'm sure :)

Things I laughed at while doing this: "Gorilla Man" - not just one hero, but two; "LifeGuard" - some poor soul was desperate to hit a deadline; apparently Minnie the Model can "project energy"; "NightClub"; "Peacemonger"; "Right-Winger"; "Secret Ninja" (/facepalm), "Thor Girl" - there's a fucking Thor Girl and no one's doing a comic about her?; "Triathlon"... ok, I'll leave it at that. Hope I didn't bore you.

Fuck, back to programming. Thanks for the diversion.
    -B

Edited: drop Cloak and Dagger, Supernaut. Apparently they're in use.

    Edited again. Dropped White Fang.

Damage Control The guys that used to clean up after super hero battles?

I know x-man got a recent revival ( not much of one ) in dark x men but he's pretty much been doing nothing in comic book limbo since the end of counter x.

I recall Adam Berman aka Primal was an interesting character from a gen x Annual a while back. I remember the letters page kept asking why they didn't use rather then the that horrible gia character they added before I dropped the book like a rock.
