Thor's pretty hot right now, has Marvel put any thoughts into bringing back Thunderstrike?

Darkhawk, Baron Zemo, Taskmaster or a great collection of misguided adventures of AWOL multiple man Dupes.

I think no one mentionned NFL Superpro?
    NFL Superpro
    I wonder why...

I'd actually vote for Ultimate Darkhawk, in the spirit of the early original run when Chris Powell was screwing everything up and getting hostages killed.

People have been mentioning NFL Superpro, but I imagine that neither Marvel nor the NFL want to revisit that catastrophe...

Also, beyond that they're unusable, Warren's already written the Ultraverse, in a very nice-looking Ultraforce/Avengers crossover comic drawn by George Perez.

My new vote is Access, the guy that both Marvel and DC own from when they crossed over in the '90s. Here is a description of his powers from Wikipedia:
Access is now a native of both universes and his duty is to keep them separate. If they start to overlap, the universes will merge into the Amalgam Universe once again. Access must move from one universe to the other keeping people from crossing over. If he stays in one place too long, he can cause spontaneous crossovers to occur.

Now obviously that's a hard pill to swallow in terms of trying to secure movie rights for him, but maybe he could be redone to be able to travel to universes that AREN'T DC...

    And why not the Ultraverse..?

    Ultraforce Vol 2 #1

This is from 1995 and, unless I'm mistaken, I'm pretty sure this was one of the first run of titles when Marvel took Ultraverse under its wing.

Warren also had a crack at Dr Strange and Thor around the same time not to mention the various, forgotten ones who became compelling characters before being fucked up in his run on Thunderbolts.

And as for MODOK: c'mon, Nextwave #12? After the robot in the white suit and before the big red dinosaur in the smoking jacket? What more do you want?

Time to read Nextwave again, methinks...
[me, that is, you can read what you like. I'm happy to have Nextwave in my room and touching my stuff]

It's very possible someone else is doing it, but what about Iron Fist? I've grown to really love that character from Brubaker and Fraction's work on him.

One of my favourites, who has been completely wasted and under-used forever, is Champion of the Universe.
Maybe a bit DULL for what you're looking for, but I don't think he has to be.

I'm not up to date on how they were used in the ANNIHILATION stories -- but perhaps the Shi'Ar Imperial Guard?

It's not a dormant property, but I'd love to see your take on the current version of IMMORTAL IRON FIST.

Another cosmic thought -- the closest thing that Marvel had to a Lensman/Space Police/Green Lantern Corps property was the Nova Corps, and last I checked that was nuked into dust at the start of ANNHILATION. Perhaps a restart, or some new far-reaching Space Police concept drawn from existing marvel concepts? Guardians of the Galaxy seems to be working along those angles, but is focused on one small squad. Hell, now that I think about it, perhaps the Imperial Guard could graduate from being a Legion clone and become this new Police Force?

A possible non-starter, but who knows -- D-Man? Former sidekick of Captain America, last I saw of him he was a homeless man who lived in some underground homeless community as their protector, but still had Avengers clearance at CapAmerica's request. This could be anything from a lowkey "compassion for the poor" story to "fantastic pulp adventures in the metal labyrinth beneath the world", a hollow-earth vibe. Sometimes the best stories come out of the seemingly lamest characters -- Swamp Thing and Animal Man, anyone?

If the SHOGUN WARRIORS thing is out of the question (licensing hell, I'm sure), how about that giant robot created to fight the Avengers? Red Ronin, I think it was called? Use that as a foundation for a "This is Japan in the Marvel U." story, pulling from anime/manga/toku tropes, mixed with superheroes? It worked for IRON FIST and wuxia tropes, after all.

Which reminds me -- Marvel did all sorts of weird cross-licensing with Toei and others in the seventies, which resulted in Shogun Warriors and Godzilla comics here, and Japan used it to springboard their version of SPIDER-MAN, and the venerable Super Sentai franchise was strongly informed by American superhero concepts (Battle Fever J was originally planned as an Avengers adaptation). Maybe there's something in there? Where are the rights to the old Spider-Man tv show concepts, such as Spider-man having a giant robot? I know Marvel showed subtitled episodes of that show on their website recently.

Someone mentioned American Eagle -- but I recall he was part of a whole slew of weird ultra-nationalist supers created for "Contest of Champions" in the 70's that haven't been used in years. Sabra (from Israel) was probably the most visible of those, and was used a decade or so ago in New Warriors, but there was also Blitzkrieg (Germany), El Aguila (Spain or Mexico, I forget which), Shamrock (Ireland), and others.

Any of the Elders of the Universe unattended? Runner, Champion, Collector...?

    How about Alien Legion?
  3.  (7954.173)
    3-D MAN,

Who currently has a sort of predecessor, called Tri-athlon.

The superhero with the power and abilities of three people combined. Wow. I feel bad just making this suggestion.
  4.  (7954.174)
    Good god.

    ALIEN LEGION was creator-owned.

I wrote AMERICAN EAGLE in THUNDERBOLTS.

I did RED RONIN in NEXTWAVE.

Ever since I first fell in love with her as a, what, six-year-old, I've always wanted to see more of Cat Claw. I realize she's not even Marvel, but a serbian (!) Spiderman rip-off, but a girl can dream. Who knows what Marvel may own these days? Sometimes I doubt even they know.

    Plus she was hot.

Ok,I stand corrected on the Ultraverse thing, but I do have other ideas:
-Digitek would be nice,an english cutting edge tech hero,I am sure you could do real good stuff with the guy.
-The knights of pendragon would be very nice too, would love to see your take on them.
-Union jack, the british WW2 hero would also be real nice
-Alpha flight,or Omega or whatever other greek letter you want to call them.
-jack of Hearts, the guy needs out of limbo and with someone like you writing his return he sure would have an impact in the MU.

Crap. I hadn't thought of the Policeman-turned-mecha as a version of Red Ronin, but it's been a couple years since I last read that story. And I still need to get caught up on Thunderbolts.

    Ah well.
