On the 30th, they played a hometown cd release show that I went to, and they gave out free copies of the new album. It's great, which is not too surprising, considering how much I love their older stuff. They played the entire new album start to finish, then played another hour+ of older songs and an encore. Can't say enough good things about these guys.
Been listening to the EPs from How To Dress Well & cokc dokc. I think a few people here would like it, I'm not sure what to call it. Its some kind of electric stuff. Not exactly shoegaze... You can get their EPs from them free from their soundcloud page for free.
got the REPERCUSSIONS 12" ep in the mail, its alright. pretty hard charging but nothing really sticks out as of the first twso listens. other than that just the RINGERS ep. so goddamn good.
DJ Shadow/Dan the Automator ? (Guns, Cars & Sitars)- That's a great record. Weird, but great. Bombay 2 - Electric Vindaloo isn't bad either.
listening: M. Gira - I am NOT Insane (SWANS) Aidan Baker - Liminoid /Lifeforms The Who - Endless Wire (honestly, a lot better than I expected. the bonus disc w/ live show is solid goodness) Red Sparowes - The Fear Is Excruciating, But Therein Lies the Answer (I gotta spin this a few more times) Iroha & Fragment. - Bittersweet EP (2 songs by each, a collab and a remix of the collab) Wipers - Follow Blind V/A - Angels & Insects Aesop Rock - Appleseed EP/Music for Earthworms (been on a slight Aesop kick all week) and that Delia Derbyshire & Barry Bermange - Inventions for Radio - Dreams segment. I wanna hear that section of the other feature where it sounds like she's predicting IDM stuff again.
listening to the Tapper Vol 23 with this months wire Magazine. It´s a pretty good CD this time around. A lot of variety and differing styles and noises
What i´m also listening to today...
King Midas Sound - Waiting For You Björk - one day (the sabres of paradise mixes) Shri Swifty & The Mandali Of Mantra - Canals Of The Atlantean Plain
I just spent the last week listening to each and every 8track mix posted by @icelandbob, in order. Whew. Nice work there, sir. Not sure what compelled me to do so, but am glad I did. Some really great stuff there.
(get´s a bit flushed and faint) Geez guys stop it!
Last night i was listening to all the postapocalyptic 8tracks mixes we did last year while drinking the dregs of our liqour cabinet (last of the ouzo and vermouth) .... I cried in my sleep....
