Hello all! I'm Jenn Jordan, co-writer of Darwin Carmichael is Going to Hell. My co-writer/artist/bff is Sophie Goldstein. Darwin lives in Brooklyn, the borough of choice for hipsters, artists, deities and an assortment of mythological creatures. Darwin has a problem. Due to an unfortunate incident involving some intense snogging, an unbalanced high chair, and a framed image of the Buddha, he acquired a massive karmic deficit. Long story short, he’s going to go to Hell. Darwin doesn’t particularly want to go to Hell, so he’s doing everything he can to save his immortal soul. He is aided by his karmically rich friend Ella, and his pet manticore Skittles.
We update every Tuesday and Thursday. We launched on January 1, 2009, and we're still going strong. Here is a recent favorite:
This is my Webcomic called Punk Rock Apocalypse. Its based around the lives of two twenty somethings in a far future metropolis as the world end around them. In a world where the future has arrived, what is there to wait for and apathy is endemic. Thel and Gravnov, two strangers who meet in a hostage situation, see more than most and uncover a plot to end the world forever.
It updates weekly with three pages every Sunday, but it won't be updating until the 16t of May because right now the web-guy is on Holiday and I don't know how to update the site.
Tales of the 8th Grade Nothing is a coming of age story about Jason Dobbins, who is in the 8th grade, and while trying to deal with grades and parents, is also desperately in love with the "Curly Little Blond Hair Girl", who doesn't even know he exists.
"Plan B: The haunted Life of Victor Anomalous" is about a geneticist who failed to create an alternative to the atomic bomb. Now in his 80's he travels cross-country to find himself because the voices in his head tell him too. Kind of a Frankenstein/Christmas Carol mash-up. http://www.victoranomalous.com
Hi. Shawn "Scott" Smith Here. I do a little webcomic called Peas every Friday for three plus years running. Sometimes it's just a image, but it's more about me sitting down to draw anything. The Webcomic can be seen each week Peas
As much as webcomics tend to cover the usual geek culture subjects, I don't think I've ever seen one about comics. Thus - Half-Assed Commitment. I'm mostly a Marvel reader, so if you're conversant with things like Siege and ASM and Marvel Zombies, this is the strip for you.
Think xkcd without all the intelligence and consistency, or Penny Arcade without all the characterization and good art.
But zombies? It's got zombies!
And OJ! What could be more topical than OJ?
I update Tuesdays and Thursdays. Only in my third week, but I think It's coming along alright so far. Oh, and there's a blog - feedback and comments are much appreciated, because right now it's hard to tell if anybody's even seeing it.
Hi everybody! I´ve just started a weekly series of Sci-Fi adventure (coming of age, sort of) an it´s called DICK. There will be colourful planets and landscapes, space-suits, starships, some punches, laser-guns and some chicks. Every saturday look for something new in rafaelnieto74.blogspot.com
There are some truly talented creators here. Well done, each and every one.
My work is Virtuoso, the story of an invention that changes the world, and the social chaos that causes. It's a science fiction story dressed up as a fantasy story. The artwork is done by Krista Brennan, who you've seen if you've paid any attention to the artist's thread. She's brilliant.
Its all about geek outs and the karmic cycle of life served with appropriate portions of cynicism garnished with stick figures... and oh yes, it is made entirely using PowerPoint. Beat that fellow geeks!
I sporadically add pages to the graphic version of my DREAMNASIUM series. I've been stalled for a bit due to other concerns but, if people dig it, I could be enticed to proceed sooner rather than later. It's an anthology of my stories. Pulpy, I suppose.
It's a simple photoshopped webcomic about the hilarity and despair of the post-Ph.D. life of a gay geek. Updates every Sunday, Wednesday, & Friday. Enjoy!
Hello everyone, My name is Julian Lytle (which is also my username) and I create a webcomic called Ants. It updates every thursday. The comic is strip that satirizes pop culture and current events. I just recently finished a storyline where they go to Asgard to get revenge for the Eggo shortage in America. I am nominated for a Rising Star Award in the 2010 Glyph Awards. Here is some samples.
Have a great day everyone and thank you to Whitechapel for the thread.
VIGIL is a superhero webcomic that takes place in Miami Florida, and revolves around a town of local heroes upset and being subcast to national heroes. It shows the business of being a cape versus the cause. I recently started it up again
My son, thirteen-year-old JW Blake, has a website for his two monthly comics, Assimilates and Amazing Adventures. He also posts sketches there, and has a small discussion group about art, atorytelling, and how to become a professional. Please stop by and let him know what you think. Here's a sample:
The Crossoverlord! Webcomic superheroes to the rescue! Heroes from across the webcomic multiverse band together to fight an evil that threatens to collapse all of reality.
Some of you guys are really starting to make me feel bad for not doing color. Gang of Fools is on it's 2nd story cycle, this one called "Dancing Naked in Another Man's Garden." My elevator pitch for MoCCA was "Futuristic action hipsters and the people who hate them." Which is silly, because who hates hipsters more than hipsters? But there is sex. And things blow up. And nobody learns a damn thing.
If you made the mistake of passing my table the other week and not picking up the first volume, "Problem-Solving Through Sex and Vandalism," which looks like this: well, you're in luck. Copies are still available.
I draw a comic called 'Emogician', it's written by Carrie Smith. Basically he is a magician... who is emo. Emogician. We came up with the idea while watching 'The Illusionist'.
It's updated weekly-ish on Fridays (we're still trying to get a regular production schedule worked out). You can find it at http://conjoinedcomics.com/comics.
