But the main music face off today was LCD Soundsystem - This Is Happening Vs Holy Fuck - Latin. anbd so far the one winning is... Holy Fuck! The LCD soundsystem album is ooookay. It sounds a lot like Devo and Talking heads. But Holy Fuck just has more energy for me today.
I've only had Ecailles de Lune for a day or two now, but I think it's a more dynamic album than Souvenirs. Ecailles seems more to be a more confident album somehow, like when he wants to do a black metal section, he just goes for it. I'd personally be cool with him stepping up the viciousness on his album to more like 70/30, but that's just me.
and it´s not that LCD soundsystem´s album is bad, in fact i agree that it´s very good. I suppose we all have to admit that it was never going to better "sound of silver", but to be honest what is. It´s more akin to sounding like the debut album.
So glad for this thread! The last three or four days have been new Gorillaz (Sizer beat me to it), new Titus Andronicus, and new Dessa (MPLS based Doomtree hip-hop lyricist, approx. one million links from me here).
