@ bramclark Love Apollo. One of my fav Eno collabs. Glad to see others enjoy it as much as me
@ TC-Cork Really if I was honest on these weekly listening threads I would ALWAYS have at least those two Bowie albums on the list. However the redundancy of that seems unnecessary. Also good to see other Bowie fans here. Although I never really doubted their existence; good taste in one thing is usually indicative of good taste in other things...
this week is "all weird shit all the time" week
Deranged Animals - Ca$h4Otterz The Bubblemaker - Scrambled Mache Klavierstücke I-XI - Karlheinz Stockhausen Sun Blindness Music - John Cale Sand Tangled Women (Echo Poeme Sequence No.3) - Nurse With Wound Glyph - Harold Budd and Hector Zazou Soundtrack to Derek Jarman's Blue - Various Artists
Figured out yesterday that James Blake (of Untold remix fame) was in my year at school. I am such a div. His Bells Sketch EP is definitely the strangest dubstep you can put in your ears. Love the drop on the title track. Makes me laugh every time.
Also, Ramadanman's self-titled EP slipped below the radar a little. Got it yesterday and it bangs.
Murcof - Remembranza (this has no business being this good) Nels Cline - Destroy All Nels Cline Karen Dalton - It's So Hard to Tell Who's going to Love You the Best (again, thanks to @allana)
@icelandbob & @Debacle Sam - Based on my current experience, Bandcamp is a pretty nifty service. Nicely minimizes the hassle of getting down to the business of selling/distributing music. Have to look at ways to integrate it with other services (like twitter and facebook and whatnot), though.
harrod's & utica institute jubilee singers 1922-29 occult voices - paranormal music warner jepson - totentanz and other electronic works 1958- 1973 Amon Duul II - Phallus Dei the University of Iowa's Polar Plasma Wave Instrument, Wide band receiver, audio data the human league - dare!
Bonobo - 'Black Sands', the whole album gives workd for me (although the vocals can be a little meh). Four Tet - 'There Is Love In You', yeah, it's Warren's fault. Boards of Canada - 'Geogaddi'
Gonjasufi - A Sufi and a Killer. I don't even know with this album, its weird. But I like it. I think. Boris - Pink. The Mars Volta - The Widow (Edit)/Frances the Mute (Picture disk). Neutral Milk Hotel - On Avery Island 12". Castrovalva - We are a Unit. Russian Circles - Geneva. I think I love Brian Cook. Red Sparowes - The Fear is Excruciating But Therin Lies the Truth.
more Kim Hiorthoy. dude is crazy. also the new LCD Soundsystem single, even though it's 8 minutes long so it doesn't really count as a single. does it? are people playing it like one? and every six months or so i listen to Entrance's The Kingdom of Heaven Must Be Taken By Storm a couple times on repeat and cry like a baby. today.
