@nigredo, how's Kayo Dot's new album? I was unbelievably let down by Blue Lambency Downward and really hope that they've return to how they sounded on Choirs of the Eye.
I've been listening to Megan Washington a whole lot and strongly recommend everyone else does too. She's Australian, fantastic and her first full length album will be out this year.
This is "How To Tame Lions" off the EP of the same name:
And this is "King of the Rodeo" which she did with WA's own Bamboos [and yes, it is an awesome jazzy cover of the Kings of Leon song]:
I'm going to use these Listening Threads to let you all know about great Australian music (when there's great Australian music to be had).
Sonic Boom Six, in preparation for the gig Against All Authority, perfect for walking to places fast, I think they'll be my signing on music too Imelda May, apparently very good to play Pokemon to
New Hold Steady, Gaslight Anthem and Gogol Bordello. The Hold Steady is the best of the bunch. Gaslight is okay but doesn't really have any oomph. Gogol Bordello is fun.
Crystal Castles - s/t (2010) -- It leaked. It's good. I've listened to it three times and don't remember any of the songs though. It's still enjoyable when listening though, and that's all that matters The Gaslight Anthem - American Slang -- This is really, really fucking good. I like how people are commenting that "It's not a punk record at all!" No shit, retards, neither was their last record, and probably not the two before that. Fuck you, it's still good. B.o.B - The Adventures of Bobby Ray -- I really like B.o.B and have for a couple years, but this isn't really mind-blowing. It's easy on the ears and catchy and he's still a good rapper though. I'll be fine if I never hear Nothing On You though. That song's way played out right now. Thanks, radio.
