It's Friday, it's FREAKANGELS. Nothing wrong with Kait having a... healthy... imagination, I suppose.
'Morning, Whitechapel. File this week under First World Problems -- Trying to get shit sorted on the new computer while Windows updates and forces restart THIRTY GODDAMNED TIMES, of course I'm still finding stuff I've forgotten and then I need to dl/install or just try something else... Bleh. Whatever. POINT OF FACT: I have a working command center again, so I can kill you all whenever I want.
... shit, I can kill you all as soon as I remember to download and install all the patches on the kill you all software... just... gimme twenty minutes...
Well NOW I'm cowering in fear and keeping an eye on everything with an internet connection. Thanks for that! Glad you are back in posession of a working computer though, and happy to be typing this from the safety of a sofa, and with a belly full of ice cream nonetheless. Three day weekends are good.
Nice episode - I'm finding it hard to work out if there's something sinister going on with Connor, or whether we're just meant to think there is. If I had to guess, I'd say Mark is somewhere other than his body at the moment, and yet still managing to keep himself shielded. But hey, could be a classic Ellis curveball. We shall see. Also, Kait has entered a new level of hotness.
Laughed like a loon at the Quincy reference. The body language on the next page is great also.
Happily I have a week off work, but sadly it's mostly going to be spent cleaning my apartment, which increasingly resembles the kind of place an elderly recluse would perish under a pile of 20 year old newspapers.
She must really like her bike to casually refuse an offer like that.... If they "know" that Luke is dead, like they "knew" that Mark was dead, then we won't actually know anything for sure until Luke fails to show up.... (is he still stashed in a storefront, or has he already moved on to evasive action?) The Quincy reference whizzed past. I never watched much TV.
loved this episode, the Quincy joke made me laugh out loud. But then it made me think about what else she might think about because if she thinks Quincy s hot then she would likely wat to get it on with Colombo too. and not young Peter Faulk but late era, lazy eyed Colombo uuuggggg.
HOLY SHIT! The TMI, the sexual attraction to Quincey, the lip biting! Kait essentially became my favorite character since her first appearance but this pretty much cements that position as unassailable. How can i resist a character that has possibly-sadistic, crime-TV fueled, sexual fantasies that end with the line "and then Quincey walks in."? I love Karl's line about wanting his short-term memory erased too. I think we all know that feeling.
Good morning, everyone! I've been wondering when someone would miss Connor. Feels like we won't get any real answers for a few more episodes. The waiting is killing me, and I love that.
I actually laughed out loud at Kait both this week and last, which is an effect comics rarely have on me, so kudos to Warren. We all now have that image stuck in our heads forever.
I love Karl's line about wanting his short-term memory erased too. I think we all know that feeling.
Indeed, sometimes; a need to erase future memories as well! Another solid and wonderful 30 second look at life in the flooded world.
Glad you are back in your command bunker, Mechanic Ariana. Nothing sucks like being out of control. I have my biopsy done next Wednesday. I would be lying if I said I was unafraid.
I'm looking forward to seeing where this foreshadowing with Conner is leading to - I have noticed that it's been a LONG time since he's appeared in any significant fashion - the last time we so much as heard from him was episode 85, and that was only a single sentence from off panel. Before that it was episode 64, where KK was only talking to him from the air ( sans an off panel reply ). In fact, the last time we saw him physically ( if I'm correct ) was episode 62, in Kait's pit. From which he vanishes suddenly, and apparently without comment...
( this is of course discounting all the flashback sequences - I'm speaking of the current time line within the story )
What HAS he been up to while all this has been happening?
He has to know what's been happening - he's always seemed to be the 'phone operator' among the group, keeping lines open between all of them - has been since episode one. And clearly he's been keeping in touch with KK and Karl so he's got to have some knowledge of what's been happening with the rest of the group.
Well, since everyone is suspicious, I doubt Connor's absence is without portent.
"Oh, here you are." "Yup. Hey." "Hey." *both parties continue on with their business*
Seems pretty mundane.
I notice the facial expressions (and even faces themselves) are getting a little more differentiated and unique. Paul, if you're reading, is that out of necessity or just evolution of the style? A lot of people have talked about having problems telling, say, Kirk and Karl (and 'Kady, I suppose) apart just based on faces. In any case, I love how Arkady's smile goes almost into straight manga territory now and then.
Ariana: you'll at least warn us when you have the "Nuke it from above" option available, right? I mean, the only way it's a deterrent is if the world knows about it. (Ugh, that's two references in two sentences. Maybe I should nuke myself.)
