but my BIG BIG BIG recommendation this week is Vialka - Succes Planetaire International (2009). god this duo are the shit! Gypsy punk with afrobeat, chinese ballads and desert rock in their little frames! I´ve spent the past week boring people to death about brilliant they sound...

Holy cow, the new Antony and the Johnsons album "The Crying Light" is stunning. I mean, I was sitting in my studio, doing NOTHING but listening to this album pour out of my speakers. Run and find this album, go somewhere you can focus on it, and listen to this album all the way through.

Here's a nice interview on NPR with him.

It's been a pretty mellow day on the music front, but that's about to change with Brainbombs, Burmese and Walls up next.

Some Dio. Had been like two years, but poor Ronnie. Specially dying some hours after a fake rumor says you're dead.

A lot of New Order and Kaiser Chiefs for the past few weeks. Everything else has just been on random.

    Joy Division - everything

Today is the 30th anniversary of Ian Curtis' suicide. Get your bleak on.

(It's been raining here for so long it can nearly be measured in weeks. I'm newly single and I don't know where I'll be in two months. Bleak comes easy these days.)
