I come home in the rain, to find my cats waiting for me on the porch. They apparently decided to sit there and wait for me, about the time when I punched out from work. They watch and they wait, ears perked, until I open the door, and then they follow me in.
Little kitty goes to my step grandfather's room to sleep, Fate follows me up to sit on the couch, peering out the window. She's not sure about this storm; her ears are perked and her eyes are wide, pupils massive. She's trying to watch everything, trying to tell where the thunder and lightening will come from next.
When it comes, a big and booming roar, she moves, but doesn't seem to move. It's like she teleports; first she was by the window, and now she's lying down on the other side of the couch from it, still watching.
So: To the other people with critters: Do your animals wait for you to come home from work? Do they run to greet you when you come home?
my roommate's cat always waits for me in the hallway in the morning and greats me with a 'meow?' She looks just like the cat from southpart with that stupid look on her face. Then she follows me downstairs where i'll either feed her or give her a polaroid photo to lick. She loves that S. It's like her crack.
My cat Spooky either waits for my by the door or he sleeps on my bed, which is right beside the door and I see him come staggering out of my room. Sometimes, he goes to his "secret spot" (really, I have no idea where it is and he's not about to tell me) and emerges once he realizes I'm home. He can usually tell it's the weekend by the time I crack my second beer in the morning. (During the week, I only have one. I DO have a job, y'know.)
