    No pen-portraits. This is ART ONLY. Posting just a bunch of text, or a scribble and a vast number of words, will get the thread closed and your account banned.

    NO MORE PHOTO-MANIPULATION "art". I'll just delete them. People have been drenching recent threads with several pieces at a time that they've knocked out in photoshop in 2 minutes with no thought at all. I consider this to be taking the piss now.

    No more than ONE submission by any one person in any one REMAKE/REMODEL.


    So here's the deal:

    You are an artist/designer.

    You have to put together the cover for the first issue of what you have been told is a "countercultural" comic called ZAP COMIX #1.

    The publisher wants to be sure that you get the text FAIR WARNING: FOR ADULT INTELLECTUALS ONLY on the cover somewhere.

    And that's it.

    ("Countercultural" means 'alternative,' as in 'alt culture,' it is explained to you.)

    It's up to you what kind of company you're at. What kind of comics you make. What era you're in. Who you are, even. Go nuts with it.

    You have one week. Go.

    You know, I actually ended up with a copy of Issue "0" of this series at some point. Unfortunately, I was too young to really appreciate it for the "countercultural" that it was.

    This should be fun, though. Maybe I'll actually have time to take a stab at it.

    Nothing, just hard work to do...You know, like creating something that has nothing to do with what was done for the original but still managing to do it "counterculturally". That kind of Riiiight. This one is a tough one.

    I got Zap #1 from my pops and a brand new pack of microns. If only my scanner wasn't incompatible with my new computer. I guess I'll have to play along at home.
