It's Friday, and this'll be the last episode of FREAKANGELS Volume Four...!

Morning, Whitechapel. How's everyone? Flooding, Spring cold snaps, etc -- everyone all right?

Just trying to work through the vague horror that my country might be screwed, other than that, fine.

Made my husband jump by going "FAAAAARRRK" (so ladylike) and then giggling hysterically at the last panel. Weather is turning mercifully cooler here and I have an overload of assignments to hand in as I am the queen of procrastination.

Thank you for taking my mind off things for at least a few minutes with this.
    My head feels like Lukes.

All that drama and Luke's not even dead! Delicious.

I'm fine, thanks, still waking up even though I went for a run at 6am. Came back to news of the unfurling madness. So FA is a good mid-day pick me up.

Took a break from my final English Comp research paper to check in on Freakangels. After 6 pages of angsty relation to both star-crossed lovers, my jaw dropped at the last page and then contorted into a grin. I doubt I'll be audibly laughing at a webcomic again anytime soon, but it just caught me so wonderfully off guard.

Also, does this mean the Freakangels are immortal? First Mark gets brain-sniped and is privately pronounced dead by two capable telepaths and then mysteriously shows up no worse for wear (well, that's arguable, but you get my point), followed by 'Kady getting concussed a few feet above a watery near-death experience in which she meets some sort of noological collective that ushers her back into the living, and now

Luke is definitely fucking dead immediately followed by being definitely a fucking zombie.

Don't tell me I'm the only one seeing an inadvertent godmode pattern here.

The week has been shit - teaching to a bunch of 8th graders who have mentally checked out is living hell.

Loved the facial expressions, but my reaction to all this was "Mark has gotten to him."

Then multiple "oh shit" comments for the last, brilliant page. Obviously wounds don't stop the FAs from coming back, but he ain't Wolverine. Head, hand, heart still open. Wonder what the back of his head looks like?

Oh, and none of them, Mark, Arkady or Luke seems to have any memory of actually being killed, just being unconscious and then unaware of the severity of the wounds. Interesting.

I think this might be my favourite episode so far. The scene between Jack and Sirkka was just so intense in both visual and dialogue terms. Then we get a very melancholy moment with Connor. And THEN I laughed my ass of at Luke's return from the dead! Hats off to all concerned, particularly to Paul for some very pretty gore.

I've been better - I got a little too boozed up last night, and woke up to find my constituency had been smeared with blue shit. On the upside, another three day weekend with many good things in it ahead, so on balance I can't complain. Happy Friday everyone!

Well at least I can assume ZombieLuke hasn't taken over Connor's body.

Great final page reveal and a good place to leave this volume. It does feel like a new chapter is beginning.

Zombie Luke as metaphor for labour government?

Ow. Great end to the volume.

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!

I knew Luke would be back, but I didn´t think it´d be so soon.

Allright here on this end, with volcanos and rain and all. Going on a bender to night with work mates, open bar at some concert thing.... We all know how that will end right?

UNBE-FUCKING-LIEVABLE. Though I have to admit, the more people talked about it, and the more I thought about it, I was afraid this would happen.

And poor MIki, all that slaving over Kirk to make sure he 'lived' when all she had to do was stash him in an abandoned storefront. That's gotta be a bit galling.

Poor Jack too, I suppose. Still though, this was bound to happen. Sirrka hasn't really been facing up to reality too much, I think, and this was bound to happen between them eventually. Too bad it had to be so incredibly messy. And because he killed someone who WON'T stay dead.

Shit, Alice is going to piss herself when she finds out.

Most important question: Will removing their head from their body be sufficient to kill them?

Also, ten'll get you twenty that Luke's going to play the martyr.

HO. LY. FUCK. I did not see that coming. I've figured for quite some time that the 'Angels might be immortal, but I still didn't see that coming. Genius.

I tell you, if FreakAngels was a novel series rather than a weekly comic, then after today's episode the wait for volume five could well kill me. Thank god Warren and Co. drip feed it to us weekly!

As for my week - dull would be the best description. Although we did have a big pall of smoke sweep over the city from fires down south yesterday, which made everything cheerily apocalyptic.

I'll be voting in our election on sunday (not general election, but for the federal land), so seeing a bleeding corpse walking around vaguely fits my feelings.

Other than that: gearing up for next week, where there's the yearly skeptic's conference in my hometown.
