    You're a jerk, sir.

When does the next one come out?

I'd suggest nuking him, but if as suggested, death/trauma only makes them stronger, it'd probably make him the FA equivalent of an Old God (that and finding a nuke might be beyond Jack's scrounging ability, even though he might have the motivation to find one after/if he finds out about Luke's current state).

I wouldn't put it past Luke as being the one to put 2+2 together and work out that death == upgrades.

I also wouldn't put it past him to commit suicide a few times to get well beyond the others abilities >-D

I'm having a time out until I can learn some manners.
I knew he wasn't dead! The rule of drama states Luke must die in Volume 8 in a gesture of immense redemption, thus making everyone else guilty forever.

Amazing p6. Paul's art is just reaching whole new levels of Wow!

Now now, Connor's the emo one.

    What @ LordFluffy said:
    Holy leaping ubershit.
That pretty much sums that up! Can not wait until this volume hits the racks, but I will have too.

Week is done for me, no appointments for today. Next week is full of doctor visit fun.
    Have a good weekend WhiteChapel!

Somehow I don't think the 'Angels are going to go all Jonestown on us trying to upgrade themselves. Well, not the saner ones at any rate.

But this is interesting because Jack BLEW OUT LUKE'S BRAINS. That's some serious trauma! It seems to imply that the 'Angels are a little more than just psychic, because I'd imagine no matter HOW psychic you are having your entire brain shredded by a bullet? would be it ( as I'm assuming that the brain would be where such abilities are generally 'localized' ).

But there he is, seemingly just as Luke as he was before he was relieved of so much gray matter, minus a few ounces of meat that haven't grown back quite yet.

So if you can literally destroy a Freakangel's brain, and not kill them or even seemingly disrupt (well, very much anyway ) even so much as their personality? That seems like more than just regeneration. Especially when you consider the 'vision' Arkady had when she was down on the river bottom drowning...

What's making them tick, for fuck's sake? FreakAngels indeed.

That's seriously what I just said. Holy shit. Think I need new pants now.

One of, if not the single best satisfying twists I have read.

Can't wait to get the hard copy of this.

Finally! Maybe NOW they'll figure out that they don't die! It gets so frustrating sometimes when they keep underestimating themselves. . .

It does, of course, say something to the credit of the authors that one can become so frustrated with fictional creatures.

And, of course, it's useful from a storytelling front for the characters not to figure out everything immediately. But ever since whatsername got sent back. . . . but how many hours ago in the narrative?

Decompressing the storytelling like this makes for an interesting perspective. It's like in Lost when 3 years had gone by for the audience, but just 60 days for the characters. . . It's hard to believe we've had Freakangels for almost two years now! So even though it *feels* like they're slow to figure things out, they've really just had one or two REALLY BUSY weeks (or days?) when all this stuff has piled on top of them. And they really have made some nice discoveries in that time, like teleporting and restoring buildings. . .

Thanks again for the entertainment! I'm looking forward to the next volume!

Well done, Mr. Ellis. (Ably assisted by Mr. Duffield & Co., o'course.)

Gracious me. Expected the return to be a touch less bloody - but expected this.

I think this is another all hands on deck situation. Maybe the rapist part of Luke got excised by the shot?

I waited about 20 seconds before clicking to the last page muttering, "If he hurts Miki I'll kill him!" - I'm still not sure who "he" is or how I would've killed him, but still - Bastard! Though to be honest, slightly more worried about Connor going off on his lonesome. That boy has 'Target' writ large on him + he's too damn nice to strangers. Alice will be pissed. As for Sirkka - aaaw, did your boyfriend finally grow a pair and make his voice heard? Boohoo. He could've chosen a better time though...

I LOVE YOU, WARREN (and everyone else who work on this comic)!!! I knew you wouldn't just go and kill my favourite character like that. I always believed in you :D
My friends teased me, you know:

    "Knock knock."
    Who's there?
    Luke who?
    "Luke's dead!"

So glad I can reverse it on 'em now :D

But... my second-favourite is leaving. I wonder if anyone will go with him. Or stop him.
