I ask because i realize that if the internet were to go away, I would be entirely screwed. I mean, what would we do without our precious email, and twitter, and flickr, and incessant blogging, and myspace, and that damned facebook. If the internet were to suddenly be sucked away by some devine entity, would the tap roots it has burrowed into our skulls be sucked away with such force, it pulls out our very souls? We have put so much of our lives in the hands of mindless machines and computers, that if they were to disappear, our lives would be just as gone as they. What I'm trying to say is that all you ugly bastards, myself included, are completely fucked should the internet be swallowed by a pissed of deity. The world will be stolen, mark my words.

I don't believe the internet is destroying our minds. Changing them - certainly- and certainly a new social aspect of our lives, but not destroying them.
At the end of the day if the internet went down tomorrow, I'd be inconvenienced (greatly) but would still be able to function, get in contact with friends and whatnot. I'd juts be using letters instead of email, phonecalls instead of voicechat, and text messages instead of IM.

As technology progresses, one day "our" internet will probably vanish, like the rotary phone. There's always something new around the bend. But I don't think it's cause for alarm. These things just happen.
