Bah! I'm way too busy this week to properly particapate (cover lacks bracers and eagle emblem boo), but I thought, why not make up for it by applying sixty layers to a quick doodle of a head? Next thread I think I'll just have to try my hand at a actiony pose for the character.
30 years of drawing 'cute' stuff for a living I have a hard time not making a cute superhero. The whole amazon/greek look popped into mind when I first read the challenge. She kind of ended up looking like the runt of the amazons, would like to beef her up (?!) but deadlines are a callin'.
Wow FredG that is an amazing piece! Love that eagle head band, and that you went with the Greek style sandal boots too! Tight and Clean work Sir, and great Title Text work- it reminds me a bit of Samurai Jack.
@Thanatosser and @payno- awesome!
@Oxbrow! yeah man! Great character, powerful image, with a great use of negative space :)
just something i threw together... in keeping with my recent silhouette theme... Hope you all Dig... SLx
AMMENDMENT!!!! taking into consideration the fabulous critique (all received with thanks) i tried a new font for title and a new name for the collection... CHILDHOOD END does reek of cliche... heres version two...
I know I produced my piece in a half hour, but I'm really regretting the mixed up font. Blegh! Well, live and learn.
Payno: I love this cover! The "Wonder Woman" title is great. Short hair is a damn fine look for an Amazon, I'm surprised. "Welcome to the Jungle" is the cheesiest story arc title ever!
Oxbrow: I like this cover too, it makes me picture a sort of super-hero on the fly, as if she was given the sword and braces in the middle of a warzone and thats it. I would actually pick this comic up to check what it was about.
FredG: Very classy! Technically sound. Perhaps the best yet?
sarianlives: Nice idea! I feel red and gold is a really nice choice of colours. That title sucks though, it makes my eyes want to grow legs and run off into a cave.
