I ought to be making this a monthly capture. So I'm going to start here. One week out of every month.
You do a webcomic? Tell me about it here. Not more than one or two images, please, or else the thread takes forever to load. Don't forget the bloody link.
Relax. There are only 8000 members of Whitechapel reading, plus god knows how many drop-ins who aren't registered members.
Let's get a sense of who's around and who's doing what. Create me a big list.
And tell your friends.
NOTE: this is not for people to list their favourite webcomics. We've done that before. Boring.
BUT: repeat visitors from previous threads are very welcome.
PITCH BLACK has just reached Volume 2's 50th strip, which is 67 panels long because of many reasons, most of them down to me being a masochistic idiot. Obviously I'm not going to use the 13.000 pixels long image here, so here are two recent, normal sized strips of the comic:
Half-Assed Commitment. Comics about comics - usually whatever came out that week, because I like to be topical. Usually about Marvel, but not exclusively.
Ive been doing this strip for a while now. Its about the ridiculousness of art school, and its disastrous concequences. Let me know what you guys think!
*Salutes* I do a sprite comic (I know, I know, what a lazy style) called FRIENDS 4 EVER!!!! One guards a cursed treasure. One resurrects the minions of Doom. One turns cranks needlessly. They are… FRIENDS 4 EVER!!! A bunch of video game monsters acting like innocent 12 year olds... We have Carpenter from Hunter: The Reckoning. He's the de-facto leader. We have Voldo from Soul Calibur. We have a Vulgar from DooM III who thinks he's an Arch Vile And we have Valtiel and Pyramid Head from Silent Hill.
Currently Arch Vile the Vulgar is arrested for noise pollution and their neighbours, a couple of sprites from some MMORPGs are staying at the Bates Motel thanks to a devastating shift in weather which destroyed their home.
My friend Matt and I are jointly making a comic. We take turns doing the pages. We don't have a script, so we just work off of whatever the other one does on the previous page.
The Cattle Raid of Cooley, my Irish Iron Age war story, continues. These two characters are supposed to be making arrangements for single combat the following morning under flag of truce, but the bigger guy, Etarcomol, wants to get it over with now, and the littler guy, Cú Chulainn, wants to dissuade him without hurting him - hence having already cut a chunk out of his hair...
And I suppose it's a little tribute to the recently departed Frank Frazetta, who established the mighty-thewed barbarian style that my approach to telling a story from northern European mythology is a reaction against.
"Bug-Out: An Electric Miscellany" is an up-and-coming webcomic that rebels against popular conceptions of myth and culture. Set partly in modern-day London, partly in the city where fairy-tales go to die, it twists together anthropology, psychology, and obscure references to things which were once popular.
At least, it will. The first big story arc is going to start - today! And will feature a Stoat With A Gun.
Do please check it out. It's going to be great. I promise.
Thanks again Uncle Warren for letting us post our webcomc offering to the Whitechapels masses again!
Here are mine:
When's Graham Another month and another 8 pages into When's Graham! Here is one of the most recent pages, we're 16 pages into the comic now, with the first chapter ending at 24, so from here it will get a little messy.
The comic is set around a student studying in London and his pals, but things won't be so simple for long... As things will move to when not where in London :)
Little Terrors! I also create a comic called Little Terrors! 4 years of archive following the story of a group of heroic kids monsters surviving in a zombie infested England. Currently the lead character is stumbling around hell.
We are actually doing a sort of even next week called LIGHT YEARS A DAY, where we will post a new page everyday for seven days, instead of our nromal twice weekly updates.
Comic creator and writer Greg Carter here with my two ongoing series:
PERFECT AGENT, written by me with art by the lovely and talented Stephanie O'Donnell: An action, action, and more action comic. Tara is a freelance killer. And very messy at it.
LOVE IS IN THE BLOOD, written by me with art by the lovely and talented Elliot Dombo: A dark fantasy paranormal romance/action graphic novel. Laila McCarthy is an ordinary professor of ancient cultures. In a world that is changing too quickly, she has lost touch with her Sumerian warrior past as Lamashtu, the first vampire. The past will bite you.
Hey; I'm Alex Melchor, RPG writer and creator of Nahast: Lands of Strife, an ongoing epic fantasy story in a setting based on a mix of Asian and Mesoamerican myths and culture.
Milo the Cloud is mine, and usually updates on Mondays and Thursdays. Been kinda crazy lately, with buying a house, but this week I'm starting back up full bore. Here's the last update from a little bit ago.
Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Comic is a long-form black and white fantasy comic in disguise as a gag-a-day. We're coming up on our fourth anniversary in a couple of weeks, and haven't missed a daily update yet! We moved to our new site last night and the latest big story arc started today, so now's the time to get in. Check out our 'About' page for a quick intro.
The latest installment of She's Famous Now, which, among other comics, runs daily at BrendanMcGinley.com.
It's the story of a young man whose high school crush goes on to become the world's #1 pop star. With the help of his amoral roommate, he gets the chance to win her back, but now he's in competition with 3.5 billion other men. Or maybe it's the story of a young artist's self-actualization despite the overwhelming vacuum around her. Either way, it's your typical Nietzschean anti-romantic teen comedy.
