It's Friday, and we're back with more FREAKANGELS. And lookie there, that's pretty much all your questions answered, all in one episode, yeah? No?

Morning, Whitechapel. Spring still hasn't fucking sprung. Oh the clouds blew off yesterday afternoon, and if you could dodge the gale force freezing wind I guess it was warmish in the direct sun. I'm kinda tired of whining about the cold now, so it should stop being cold. Bleh. How's everyone?

"A few of the others dropped a house on him."

    Brilliant :)

I'm pretty new here, but Ariana...I'd take it as a kindness if you could see your way to swapping your cold for the boiling hotness that is my neck of the woods right now. I was just kicking the last traces of a fever yesterday when the sun came out and refused to go away. Ugh.

I'm having a time out until I can learn some manners.
That was absolutely amazing, and well worth waiting for! I love how it starts out as a neutral(ish) summary, and then bit by bit we realise Luke must be the narrator. I hope the whole of Volume 5 is 'his' story. Can't stop thinking he's the funniest and best character, though morally twisted, of course.

Cold? In England, Summer has reared her golden head; it's hot, hot, hot. However for me, this means hay fever and constant sneezing like a faulty cannon. Annoying, repetitive AND embarrassing!

Great recap!! "I'm Luke, and I have no idea why I'm not dead." Brilliant stuff. Feel like Volume 5 is going to bring big exciting things our way!! Ha, 'head plug.'

Oh wow. Love Luke's inner voice, hope we get to hear more from him before he gets shot in the head again.
FA is back like a high-velocity ballistic projectile aimed at the supine brainbits! Hell yeah. Please sir, may I have another?
    Also: freakbabies are freaky.

Maybe we'll find out that everything we knew is wrong.

Although given the level of self-delusion apparent in the final page I dunno. Oh it's great to be back in Freakworld.

That was great, and for free. It made me start waiting for the 5th trade.

Bravo! A fantastic start to volume 5.

Yeah, in the UK summer has come and it has told anyone who likes the cold and wet that they are jolly well going to enjoy the BBQ weather or else.

This means I'm going to go and hide in cafés with decent ventilation and temperature control and sulk until the rain comes in a few days.

It was too hot for me to sleep last night. My schedules all out of whack, but at least FA is on time!

Awesome recap, I like how it wasn't too apparent that we were reading Luke's thoughts. When it got to 'horrible' KK, I had to stop and think about it because I like KK.

*Snirk* I giggled most the way through it. The tone was prefect.

I sort of got a job, and am going home in two weeks for a visit (I live on the other side of the country) and have been working for the past 5 weeks and should be happy. I was hyper and feeling very sadistic. Right now I just hate everything for the same reason I wanted to hurt someone and bounce a lot earlier this week... no reason in particular.

When did I return to being a teenager?

I am going to assume that these mythical hot places in the UK are out with Scotland where it is still its usual grey drab self.

I do believe this recap just became my favourite episode. Loved it to bits. <3

Our sunless and frozen hellhole of a country just became a summery heaven these past few weeks, and I'm enjoying the fuck out of the sunshine and blistering heat. I mean we're going above 26°C in MAY? YES, PLEASE. MORE.

The art style is different, more naive or something, isn't it.

So... (near-)death experiences makes Freakangels more powerful? Do you want a more powerful Luke?

That was one of the most brilliant recaps I've read. The narrative twist at the end made me wish I had missed this week and like 3 months after, but I'm incapable... Sooo... Waiting commences...

    @Paul: Phenomenal work.

This recap was so worth it just for the group shot of them all as wee tots - that made me smile.

Man, they were some sinister looking children, weren't they? I chortled when that 'repugnant helicopter' line made it all too clear who we were listening to. Man, Luke's a charming horror sometimes. Interesting that he considers Mark a mind controlling bastard, I'm looking forward to seeing how that one turns out.

It's feeling very summery here, but it remains to be seen whether I will embrace the sunshine or just spend all weekend switching between beds and screens. Have a good one, folks.

Naah, he just knows that's what the others think.

Personally I'm trapped between the dilemma of making myself a giant ice mocha or drinking scorching hot tea in the hope that it down-regulates my hypothalamus and cools me off. And whether the temperature rise caused by the metabolic effort of doing either is worth it.

Losing some weight would also be good. The problem is, I'd have to exercise more... which would make me overheat.

At least I have a mesh-backed office chair. And I'm at home, where I can open the windows. They never get the aircon right in the office.

I love the glare of the spotlight on the gunship on page 1 panel 3.
I also had to stop and think when KK was described as horrible, since she's my favourite.
A great start to book 5!
