    Issue 223, New Worlds
abandons paper, adopts psychotropic localized storytelling?
edited as it might break the rules.

@robb - Wow. Talk about thinking outside the box.

@robb - Damn. I think that's a win. I'm crawling back to my cave in shame now.

@robb not bad, I was going to do one with nasal spray an AAA maps but changed my mind.

Sorry, idea envy has reduced me to sarcasm, really a great idea and execution. It's a story in and of itself, but don't let Mr. Ellis hear me say that.

I just like to draw gas masks, plain and simple.

I don't know why, but KirbyPunch's cover looks like a 3D effect with the red guy sticking out. Maybe I should lay off the sauce, but it looks awesome.

And fuckity fuck I need to find some time.

There's a definitive 3D-like effect going on there, very interesting color choice, Kirbypunch!

All brilliant, but special mention has to go to Robb, it reminds me of that Spiritualised album a few years back that was released in a giant pill box and foil blister thing.

    New Worlds #223

Hello Whitechapel! I'm new here and trying to figure out how this works. I had actually already made a version of this illustration and titled it New Worlds and then I read about this SF cover remodel project. Strange coincidence. I reworked my earlier picture into this cover.

Edited as I am stupid and did not get the picture thing to work at first...

@Patrik - First, welcome to Whitechapel!

Nevermind, you fixed the issue. ;) Nice piece!

@robb - foocking awesome concept. Kinda made me think of Jeff Noon's Vurt, for some reason.

@'s FredG, DBed, David Ingersoll, Audley, KirbyPunch and Patrik - all pretty-fucking-sweet. Thanks for sharing/showing!

@robb- Hope you didn't edit because of my story comment, wasn't meant as criticism in any way, just my lame attempt at a joke.

Not sure if Rule#5 would apply to a description of a concept, would it? After all every design has some elements of a story to it.

For example my own design, someone could be inspired to write about an astronaut waking up in a white void staring at a universe the size of a bowling ball (if the writer had been drinking a lot and ran out of good ideas).

Maybe one of the long timers knows better.

What's science fiction about? Travel/exploration, things that aren't us, technology, time.
The most ground-breaking thing I could imagine was not loading the cover up with artwork.

Here's a 1440x960 desktop wallpaper if anyone wants one...
