One of the best episodes, so far. Gradually building, and at the end the "pop". Also, i must say, the prospect of a mind being trapped in a decaying body is... disturbing.
In other news, i'm studying for exams, or at least that is what i'm supposed to do.
Classic! I can really feel Luke channelling Warren (I hope that's not a bad thing to say). There's a whole years worth of T-shirts in there. Has something changed with the way the art is produced in the last 2 episodes? It seems to jump off the page. Maybe it's just the white background and Luke breaking the frame borders.
I'm also in lovely sunny Euston (staticgirl: where are you in Euston? I'm pretty much above PC World), and like others having a shit week at work. I've been so busy digging people out of the shit I told them they were digging themselves into I completely failed to notice the shit I had dug myself into until a few moments ago. And it's still 4 hours to official pub time and my head feels like Luke's.
0098: The funniest thing is the staring eyes while he asks them questions. But I was eating my breakfast before I started this episode and that's pretty funny too ! The message that Luke got from the enlightened future says that they have a sense of humor as well.
The big question is what are they going to do with him now? Obviously try to stop the bleeding so that he doesn't drip and spatter. And if it doesn't grow back up there he could always hold your cigar!
TOO MUCH STORY - MORE actual NOTICES PLEASE. After all, I'm just being a total wanker here, and since I can't complain about anything else, I feel the need to complain because its my right as a human pig baby.
/end sarcasm and mrpaulgrey riff
Badass. I now want to see a talk show host with an open head wound pontificate and march around the stage, spewing vulgarities and blood spurts.
Ag. I used to wonder about that 'consciousness trapped in dead meat under the dirt' stuff when I was a kid.
This was also hands down the best opening panel ever, and that on page 4 is probably the funniest thing Caz will ever say in the entire series.
Damn, I can't help myself - he's a total cunt and an utter piece of shit, but I really can't help but adore Luke now. Probably reminds me too much of myself - which is probably more than I should say. Oops.
THAT; was amazing. Pure genius, both dialogue and art were at a zenith with this episode. Yes, several clothing options are just waiting to be purchased with this weeks panels.
That might now be my favourite episode so far - fucking hilarious, and as others have said it makes it a lot harder to hate Luke. The word that kept bouncing round my head while reading that was 'Manchild'. Luke seems to be the most extreme example of a flaw that all the FA's share to an extent - he likes to think he's a lot more grown up and civilised than he actually is, hence his incredulity at the frequent beatings and shootings.
My week has been good, but up until reading this today I have been in an inexplicably foul mood. So, thanks to all concerned for turning that around.
I don't normally post on here - but this episode was so beautiful. All the little details of the blood drops flitting off of every hair, every surface, and Luke's sick humor (and sticking his finger into his own brain). I would have these panels framed if it wouldn't give me nightmares.
Based on this, can Book Five (it is Book Five now, right? Me head's still oxygen-starved from laughing so much) please consist solely of Luke's tirade while we watch his head wound gradually heal?
Right. Now then, how the bloody hell do I change my ID here to "Manchester McChav Mark"...
My favourite episode so far, and that surprised me a bit because I have hated Luke from the start. I think he might be my favourite now :) Well done, TEAM AWESOME
That was amazing. And considering this entire week has been moving up through my list of top 5 worst professional experiences (just ridiculous, bureaucratic nonsense and employee shitheelery), the perfect way to kick off a holiday weekend. Many thanks, Mr. Ellis.
