@longtimelurker: I wasn't thinking so much changes to personality, but rather behavioral changes or complications from the trauma. To me, the returned Mark didn't seem as sharp and with-it as his younger self (perhaps I'm wrong), so I was waiting to see if getting brain-fried had an affect on him. But it could just be that his talk with Kaitlin was the first real conversation he's had in years. Or like with the current piece, I'd believe that Luke isn't just on roll, but his diatribe his probably being helped along by leftover adrenaline from the firefight. Physiological changes that leave an imprint rather than major personality shifts.
Paul's art really blew my mind this episode. Just how much Luke was moving, escaping the sides of the panels more and more every moment. Brilliant. And I absolutely love the idea of the consciousness being trapped in a rotting body. That's one of the most frightening things in the universe to think about. Everything just keeps getting better. I must say, as someone else did, I hated Luke from the beginning, but now he may be a favorite. Well done all around.
I'm not gonna even try and talk about my week, because this isn't an open mic thread. Let's just say it was long.
Man I enjoyed this a great deal. Can't wait till next week. Luke has easily become the most interesting character so far. I really enjoy the situations he stirs up whenever he is around.
Warren, I am both completely embarrassed beyond belief as well as thrilled to bits that this was the first episode of this comic of yours I've read. It was bloody brilliant. Now I'm going to have to get caught up...have to get a comic made first, but this does look fantastic! :)
The best part of it wasn't so much "Luke, you're still a complete wanker." It was Luke's expression of complete wonder and beatific joy as he reported this.
Nice art upgrade with the coming out of the frame and stuff... So that's how Luke justifies his actions to himself. You'd think he'd wonder why mind control was necessary if the girl liked him. Not very self-aware for a big intellect. How much does Luke know? Last episode we saw him go over stuff he wasn't physically present for, like Connor leaving and Mark coming back and the others "dropping a house on him". Presumably the light was the same as what Arkady saw a couple of months/minutes ago when she "drowned". And my old question still remains: how powerful has Luke ever really been, psychically?

Yes - that made that scene, his expression. Perfect.
Oh man, that was a fantastic episode. Despite being a gigantic wanker, I still think Luke is one of my favorite characters, different points of view are refreshing.
