Hmmm... Well, if this is the case then we can't expect any FA's to die in future episodes. Of course, Luke could be just wrong, although he's not the first to see the other FreakAngels during a near-death experience.
Saw the Pixies last night. Feeling a little tired today and still too much work to comprehend where to start. I'm off to pick up FreakAngels Vol 4 from GOSH! (BTW - the side bar on the comic is still saying that Vol 3 is coming in November?) -

I'd think that if anything he'd be more that Luke since he now knows that he's a Nietzschean superman who literally cannot die permanently and that if he does die, he'll just come back stronger. -
Interesting thought - how badly does a FA body have to be mangled before they don't come back?

Phew...looks like we were all pretty prescient about this.
However, while he's probably got it right about the bodies being containers for the package...and their silhouettes from the future are the shape of their current bodies....how does that work? Will their bodies not age at all? I think it's more likely that they'll go post-physical and no longer need their bodies to contain the package. The silhouettes in the visions are then a residual self-image (or even just a projection for the sake of familiarity to the recipient), so they're obviously not going to age at all.
Doesn't bode well for Luke's hypno-sex prospects, does it? :)
EDIT: Is it just me, or are all the FAs in the vision nekkid? -

My head hurts today. The sim scan went well. I can endure the pressure and looks like my third bout of Radiation shell commence soon. Probably in a week or two. I wish I could say I was excited and hopeful; but I won't lie, Cancer Sucks. -

Well the sun is actually going to shine today, but I'll be inside working on the house, and doing artwork later (I hope). Loving what Paul did with the artwork on this one.
I have had coffee, thank FSM, but I just realized: JEEZUS Ariana, are you actually up at 4AM making sure Freakangels is up, and starting this thread? (I know that the comic can be set to post itself, of course, but don't believe this thread can.) So, anyways, just thank you for that. -
Good episode, confirmed a lot of the theories on here (or at least supports them, purely luke's theorizing) but while informational, not a lot actually happened. Gotta love KK giving him shit from the future lol.
@aeddan I'm not sure if mangling would be very effective other than giving them a defective meat-suit. I'd probably go with complete dismemberment, for luke at least, bury his arms and legs 50 feet down in 4 distant corners of nowhere, and burn his head (to shut him up) and scatter the ashes in the floodwaters somewhere. If that doesn't kill them, it will at least slow them down as they try to reassemble themselves. We haven't actually seen anyone reattach severed limbs, so who knows if they actually can? Would at least mess up their whole day lol. -

Luke's rant reminded me of something I'd read somewhere: my post from last week's thread.
I'm beginning to suspect that the 'package' is in some way an extremely enhanced electromagnetic field - rather similar to what Luke was going on about.
For normal people, it's a barely there sort of murmur in the meat. For Freakangels, it's more there THAN the meat - so even with some form of brain death that electromagnetic field continues on just fine, because unlike normal people it's independent of that 'framework' - their 'minds' exist far outside of it.
I think that might explain why they can do the things they can do, too. They can affect real world change by thinking about it because their minds are unavoidably interwoven with the most basic fabric of it. In essence, I guess it's rather a bit like quantum entanglement ... but that's getting into esoteric stuff I can't really explain properly or better than this.
And it's probably just a shitty guess at best anyway.
So, maybe not such a shitty guess?
If anything, this episode made me laugh more than the previous. The way Luke picked up after being interrupted on page one killed me, right back into the same pose, expression, even repeating himself.
As for myself, I'll be without the wife for the next week since she'll be half a continent away with family. I've have also been bawled out after being awake and upright this morning for all of 50 seconds, for something someone else might do...because it is not possible for me to get a good night's sleep even once without the universe exacting immediate and horrible vengeance. -
I'm imagining a Luke Chainsaw Merry-Go-Round and I thought I'd share.

Damnit, why did he go and have a good idea? I bet it's right too. I don't want to have to like Luke! It's like my grandma used to say, "You can always forgive a man, but you must never forgive an idea."
That doesn't make any sense at all, does it? I'm still trying to work it out. But anyway, here's hoping the bastard has enlightened up and changed his bastarding ways. Or if not that his betters can make better use of that idea of his while also putting his body to use in a compost heap.
Actually, what would happen if our purple-blasting friends' bodies were destroyed? I'm guessing they'd live on as creatures of pure energy transcending time and space, that is, that's how they become those future selves. I can only imagine this would be an improvement in Luke's case. He wouldn't have any parts to stick into girls you see.
Mark though, he'd become really dangerous.
