    " Do you have some other ideas in mind for this format? Experiment aside, was the free online to purchased paper model able to bring in enough money to justify its continued use for other stories? "

    Id be interested how the " Freak Angels Experiment " turned out my self.

    @kperkins says:

    @ConTrick says:

    "Smart people connect dots others don't even see"

    And crazy people.

    A fair point, but on the Freak-scale of insanity there's also 'Mark-crazy', 'Kait-crazy' and 'Arkady-crazy'. By these standards, I see most of the others as (relatively) sane.

    I like your idea @curb and it seems that unless Mr. Warren (hi) plans to do a major skip in time ie "20 years later..." the future FAs Luke and Arkady saw are not too far in the future since apparently the story is already 2/3 done (nooo).

    So, for the count (and because lists are good):
    Arkady: 2 known 'rebirths'
    Luke: 1
    Mark: 1? or 2? did they just knock him out with the house or did they kill him?

    Perhaps when they "level up" too many times they become so self-aware and mentally inclined (focused on their own mental powers) that they are unable to relate to/really see the rest of the world. For example; Arkady we know was the first to hit Death and bounce back (HEY THAT'S CHEATING. terry pratchett reference? anyone?) and the general consensus was that she was a bit loopy/wrapped up in her own head. Side effects of 'leveling up'? Are they all going to get to a point where they're so nirvana-esq that they end up floating naked in purple light talking to their past selves?

    I guess those side effects beat the usual "may cause nausea, vomiting, high fever, dizziness and in some instances death".

    Since its just Luke and he's still a wanker, let's do a little experiment - chop his head off and see how that affects his package.

    I hope that episode 100 will be epic. =D If only because it's a milestone number.

    Maybe Luke won't be such a jerk from now on. It seems he's been 'enlightened', in a way, because he's rambling like Arkady. I do like the idea of their futureselves talking to them. I mean, with their super powers why not broach the subject of time travel? I'm all for it. =D

    well, 2 this twist, but i hope this isn't a signal of Freakangels jumping the shark a bit, cuz i kinda liked it when they were actually worried about the normal human stuff like dying and building new stuff for Whitechapel. I'd be dissapointed if this turned into some giant self-involved battle and they stop caring about the normals around them. but i have faith in Warren, usually this is the point where things just get deeper and way more cool.

    Shall we celebrate the 100th episode? A SPIT special or a remodel special even for those who can't draw?
    I wish we did something special for Paul, Warren, Ariana and evryone else on Whitechapel who provide us so much pleasure.

    I'm curious about:

    - OK, a shot that make a whole tunnel through his head isn't enough to kill him. So, what's needed, then? Decapitation? Someone will try to discover what's needed?

    - Will Luke stop bleeding sometime? Or regrow his brains out?

    - Will Arkady faint out seeing Luke in this state?

    - Why everyone seems to be too calm seeing a very talkative should-have-been-dead Luke,as if it was a very normal thing?

    Don't miss the next FREAKANGELS episode!

    While Warren has been pretty forthcoming on other wacky ideas (like Shivering Sands), I doubt we'll see concrete numbers on how successful it is. I would think that running for 600 pages when many print books can't manage more than 100 is concrete enough.

    I still say there's something to the stark white backgrounds when it shows Luke.

    I'm also all for some sort of 100th episode celebratory dealie-bobber.

    "I'm afraid the "baby farm for food" failed to shock me, because I can't believe in it. (A pregnant woman needs food or she miscarries and dies; why not just eat what they were feeding to the victims?)"

    The sacrifice and consumption of the infant is the ultimate expression of dominance over the female in society. Read FROM HELL chapter 4. It's the next step downward after organized rape: not only does the woman have no purpose in life other than as an object of the man's pleasure, even the product of her childbirth (the ultimate expression of her power to create as a woman) is used merely as sustenance for the man. It's a horrible ancient practice.

    But that was a long time ago, and people are different now, you might say. Well, maybe. But the BIG PUNCH altered a lot of things. The FREAKANGELS wanted to do something that had a big impact. Not all of the FREAKANGELS are saints, as we're finding out now, and the one who really pushed for the changes is probably the worst of them now. Stands to reason what was left remaining would not be utopia.

    @longtimelurker: you're right on your explanation of the baby farm for food thing as "the ultimate expression of dominance", but that still doesn't explain if people can survive on it. i, like NakedCelt, find it highly unlikely. actually, i really doubt it that they can make even one pregnancy cycle. and that's why it fails to be that shocking for us, maybe. it's not hard to hurt and humiliate, it's hard to survive. had the "farmers" managed somehow to turn it into a way of surviving, well, that'd been really shocking for me.

    Why are you people asking for the baby farm concept to be made 'more' shocking and 'real'. What the hell is wrong with you when you think eating babies has to be made somehow more horrifying to be believable? In any case that comment was made in passing and hasn't had any real impact on the story, so who cares.

    Never has Luke been so entertaining, he's definitely winning me over with his "Road to Spacetime meets infinity Damascus presented with such lovely theatrics."
