    would it be ok if you got punished for your intention?
    People get put in jail for intending to kill--but not actually killing--every day. Motive is a primary component in guilty verdicts in murder trials... sometimes the only component, depending on the case, judge, and jury. We're hardly in thought police land on this one, I think.
