@JohnEctoplasmic Awesome.I haven't heard Dead Low Tide in forever. Mike Kunka is from my hometown. They played there many years ago with Pleasure Forever, who are one of my favorite bands of all time. There's something sinister about the both of them.
@nigredo, it is pretty damn awesome. In the Court of... will always be my favourite, followed closely by Red, but for outright weirdness it can't be beaten.
Back from the cabin in the woods, where these babies got a lot of play.

I'm learning french at the moment so I'm listening to a lot of french music, including:
mademoiselle K - Ca me vexe, like a french pixies, lacks the abrasive production of steve alibini but still rocks. Karpatt - Montreuil, jazzy folky pop, very french to the extent it has an accordion on some tracks. a Marie Laforet best of inc her groovy version of paint it black and a bunch of other good tunes. Serge Gainsbourg, of course. Everyone should have at least one Gainsbourg album - Histoire de melody nelson. A Brigitte Bardot best of, which is really cool, also a lot of charles asnavour, sacha distel, france gall, francoise hardy because the lyrics are pronounced relatively clearly, to be honest.
but newest to my ears and most exciting... Katerine - Robots apres tout. I know very little about him, but this is the best techno disco art pop i've heard... ever. In one tune he describes being chased around paris by revolting right wing brat marine le pen. Un vrai cauchemar, he says. Another begins 'excusez-moi je m'ejaculer dans tes cheveux'. Awesome.
