It's obviously too big a piece for a link, but to listen to The Cure's Disintegration and read James O'Barr's The Crow is pretty epic. This was a favorite state of mind in early 90's high school for me, not some place I go back to often, but it is a powerful juxtaposition. The Cure's album Pornography works as well, but I've always felt Disintegration was perfect.
Uriah Heep band is good, But hardly seen by most of the criticism.Sometimes I think the only music critic likes to hear Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Nirvana. Nothing against those bands, but what is going on in my head.
