    Better late than never, yes?

    Thoughts?

    You can say that again you la'. Capt. Swing and Doctor Sleepless nod in one issue. Months of feelings of hopeless abandon washed away by one proper noun.

    Possible Spoiler
    So, is it in this realm the good Doktor Sleepless spent, at least some of those years away from Heavenside?

    Loving, of course, the Reinhardt angle - and it makes perfect sense for DS to have dropped back in time at some point - but our copper is a Gravel too? Signs of a Shared Universe? Say it ain't so!

    @warren:
    Ah. That extra H. Ancestor then?

    Enjoyed issue 2 much more than the first; feeling a bit more hooked into it, with the dok reference, and with the world of the story being a bit clearer, as well as the characters.

    @Cat Vincent - Ancestor was definitely the first thing I thought. I suppose we'll find out if there's any more to it! No matter what, I'm looking forward to the latter half of it.

    This is so 'bloody' good. Thanks Warren.

    @Cat and Jeff

    Same here. I thought, perhaps, it was his granddaddy or some other y-DNA paternal ancestor. The name thing is what made me thing it was an ancestor, given the probable Anglicization (at least in part) if Sleepless was a 2nd gen anglophone. But then, after taking a look at those bizarre ocular contraptions, I thought it just very well may be Sleepless himself. Maybe the "H" is just some sort of nod to Heavenside. Ahh, I give up. Space-time, ain't it a bitch!

    I had begun to consider dropping this title from my single issue pick ups and just picking up the eventual collection but this issue just created another Avatar "Double Dip." I am now vehemently awaiting the rest of issues and the sure to be spectacular hardcover presentation of this series.

    I love the Gravel and the Doktor Sleepless(NEED NEW REGULAR ISSUE) references and can't wait to see what comes of those (and to see if there are any more to other Avatar works) but I think this book really stands on its own. Thank you, Mr. Ellis, for, yet again, giving us readers and dreamers a quote to shout out in joy.

    "We fly to change the future."

    worth the wait...will the next one be as long ?
    Obviously going to have to pick up some trades of Gravel and Doktor Sleepless...wish i made more money !

    I'm too out of the loop to get this reference (I'm keeping up with Supergod and Captain Swing when it comes to Ellis' avatar work) someone fill me in please.

    Captain Swing appears to be an ancestor of DOKTOR SLEEPLESS, the policeman appears to be related to GRAVEL. i have an odd feeling that the people in question with the moon rock may end up being related to/causing the formation of the Seven from Gravel as well.
