I love her smirk at the end! Conor could well become my favourite character.
I am generally hacked off at life, surviving by a thread, but extremely excited about seeing the Japanese superstar Gackt tonight at the O2 Academy Islington. Why such a small venue I don't know. He's never toured in the UK before, rumour has it, he never will again (he's meant to be retiring from the music business). So excited. This is the guy who used to be in Malice Mizer. Beast of Blood.
Not looking forward to the downer tomorrow.
I've even pondered becoming an alcoholic or druggy to get me through. At least that stuff makes you feel good.

In other news I'm about to spend the weekend camping just as the UK decides that the weather can get back to normal, rather than bake us all to a crisp.
Then spend the next three months writing 3 applications from scratch, updating another 2 to interface with the new ones whilst continuing to provide IT support to the company because the IT director can't pull his finger out his butt to get us the real resource we need.

I have a somewhat odd question, not really expecting an answer:

The penultimate panel this week, with Miki picking up the marker is wonderful. Possibly my favourite ever comic book "someone picking up a pen" moment, it looks like she's about to pop the cap off with her forefinger. Is this an entirely stupid question, or was that in the script, or Mr Duffield's idea, or is she just picking it up in a weird way?

If reading minds is as hard as Kaitlyn says, it will be some job to work through all of the citizens of Whitechapel for drones. And Mark could always make new drones. (Is that why he was banished? Because mind control requires proximity?) They've got to find the weapons.

Connor is a writer. He's been a recorder in the past, but it's time for him to do more than record. Writers make things happen.

The Luke scene is funny, but Miki is missing the scary point: the bastard is healing at an accelerated rate.

If there is a good chance that Luke's head wound has made him more powerful, shouldn't there be more than one of them guarding him? He was just locked up in Kait's pit and awaiting trial for rape--it seems to be the wrong time for the others to wander off, to me.

On another note: Miki presumably has access to needles...she should have tattooed the dick on Luke's head.

Hmmm, I suspected that Mark had gone down a little too easily to be true. Nw we know that they (almost certainly) can't die, it will be interesting to see where this goes - some kind of battle for Whitechapel's soul, perhaps?

I am good, but guiltridden that I just spent £11 on a limited edition bottle of Brew Dog Abstrakt. They recommend I let it mature for six months before I drink it. I don't know if I have the will power for that.

Between Arkady's info dump last week and this week's dick joke (which still has me chuckling), I realize I'm getting more entertainment and surprises out of this free webcomic than I do from the twaddle I pay to obtain from DC and Marvel.

Week has been semi-eventful. Commuting rush via public transportation to make an 8 AM training class 55 miles away has been the big drama moment. But hooking up with a visiting friend from Japan for dinner made the week better.

Heheheheh. I love how this whole story so far seems to be about how these people cannot die, have powers that could possibly be even more amazing and destructive then the ones they used to fuck up the planet...and yet you still have a panel of someone drawing a penis on the forehead. That's something you need for these kind of stories--some levity to pick up back up, and that's what this installment felt like.

And I'm doing pretty well--haven't been on here a lot lately, but I'm doing a lot better now then I did before, because it looks like I GOTS A JOB. It's part-time and could quite possibly break me, but still--I GOTS A JOB. :D

Hmm i love where this is going.
At the moment we are in the filler between the major events of the story,i kinda thought that luke wouldn't go through the next few chapters with a gaping head wound and so that wasn't a major shock to me, the marker pen was good old Mr Ellis he knows how to keep me surprised and also in suspense what i am looking forward too is the big freakangel conference and whether or not Alice will attend.
Luke has got to be major pissed and he cant kill Sex popeye.
But Alice whipitminge has got to be in his sights. and he is unlikely to be forgiving, will the others protect her ?
will Kait see it as attempted murder by an outsider?
Also her confrontation with mark will make excellent reading
So yes, keep me entertained Mr Ellis as i wont stop coming back until the story is over.

Still waiting to see how Alice reacts to Luke. Too bad she's going to miss the 'Romero' version of Luke though...

Clearly Mark and his drones will still be a problem - but with this new discovery they've made will Mark still want to do what he did? He might end up turning them all off and letting them go, or whatever, but they'll still be armed...and that could give them ideas of their own. We really have no idea just WHAT sort of weapons they all have. But if the mortar shell from the first chapter was from some of his this could be a real problem.

One thing's sure, they HAVE to deal with each other now, because they're obviously stuck with each other.

You know what's cool about what Arkady did, now that it's clear she didn't kill or something like that - that must have taken particularly careful, delicate use of the package, versus the rush of information she gave Luke when showing him a tiny piece of her overdose. Luke was useless for a while. This thing snapped Connor to attention immediately. Groovy.

Well, not fired as in "you there, get the hell out of this factory!" kind of way but more like "we don't have enough orders and have to halt half of the assembly lines, so we cannot extend your contract at the moment, goodbye, hopefully see you whenever production picks up again" kind of way. If everything works out I'll be back at work in a couple of weeks. If not... well... I'll look elsewhere!

And yes Arkady is adorable. Apparently she has a newfound respect of the law from when it demanded to cut off her nipples.

And we can see the wheels turning in Connor's head. Maybe he really is the self-awareness of the collective. He seems to be the first to actively, intellectually consider the many and far-reaching implications of their latest self-discoveries.
