Maybe it is time for other folks to do some Photoshopping. Say, to generate proof that BP executives spend their spare time engaged in erotic oil wrestling with dying crude-soaked dolphins.
The first one is appalling, but the second may very well just be a poor balancing job. Looks like whoever processed the photo created a sloppy mask in order to reduce glare from the screen or some similar brightness/contrast clean-up. Spotting photoshop manipulation doesn't equal fakery every time, but I'm amazed that they hired someone so unprofessional in the first place!
I’m kind of surprised that there’s a PR teamed there with such inept strategists. Releasing retouched images is an incredibly stupid way to handle a company that’s destroyed its credibility. Their photography guidelines should have had a big note up at the top telling people that Photoshop could only be used for resizing and color conversion and that photographers must be chosen based on their ability to just nail a photo the first time so that everything could be released unedited.
with all the money that fucking company has they couldn't find a person with decent PShop skills? I think I'm more pissed and the shitty PShop work more than the attempt to deceive the public at this point.
