What inspired Marvel to have you devise a series for South East Asia?
No idea. I mean, obviously, I know nothing about Marvel characters, have never written any, have never written animation and am a very obscure writer.
I'm kidding, but, seriously, I've got experience writing for animation, writing treatments, and I know the Marvel library.
And when you work for an Asian market are you adapting your writing style for the audience, or do the other writers do that, or are they bringing your perspective to an Asian market relatively unfiltered?
The other writers do that, mostly. It was my job to write outlines that delivered a "Marvel experience," if you like. My main sacrifice to the Japanese style was reducing the story density somewhat.
Obviously, I have no idea what was DONE to my outlines once they were in the hands of the writing team! But, you know, it's not like Madhouse hasn't produced some of my favourite anime, so I'm going to trust that they'll rewrite my work very well...]]>
