And for some reason I've had "Carry On Wayward Son" by Kansas stuck in my head all day, so no doubt that'll surface before the night's out.
Also: i urge you all to check out Felicity Groom and the Black Black Smoke, in particular the song "39 Ways to Leave Your Lover" She's got one hell of a voice and it's worth a listen for that alone.

The one and only mighty mighty Roots Band's new album:
is a return to the type of form that bought us Things Fall Apart, after their departure into darker territory on the last couple of releases. With Ahmir "?uestlove's" Thompson's production on top form as usual, lyrical monster Tariq "Black Thought" Trotter turns back the clock with his awesome rhyme skills to prove once again that he is one of the most talented MC's ever to pick up a mic.
As my profile says, Hip-hop is the love of my life, and The Roots have long been the ultimate in hip-hop bands - so this is already my favourite album of the year.
Your general random stuff thanks to Spotify, eMusic and Boomkat
- Grand Magus : Hammer of the North - Avenged Sevenfold : Nightmare (so much better than previous A7X albums I'm guessing because this is effectively an epitaph for their drummer who died during its recording) - Jack Johnson : To the Sea - Anni B Sweet : Start Restart Undo - Oskar Schonning : The Belgrade Tapes - Eric Bibb : Bookers Guitar - Seasick Steve : Songs for Elizabeth - Cliff Martinez : Solaris OST - Zola Jesus : Stridulum (because people keep talking about ZJ here. Sounds like Burial with vocals) - How to Destroy Angels EP (needs some variation in tempo and mood)
Neu! : Neu 86 (Neu! goes Pop, I guess? It's basically the reissue/reworking/remix of Neu 4 which is the only one I never had.)
Best Coast: Crazy for You (Tremendous hype behind this one: almost unbearable, really. So far, It's coming off to me as a really high quality Summer-sounding, girl-group album. Less Lo-fi than I would have expected.)
Merzbuddha - Merzbow v2.0 - Garbage Amanda Palmer Performs The Popular Hits Of Radiohead On Her Magical Ukulele - Amanda Palmer Evelyn Evelyn - Evelyn Evelyn (still - wrote a mini-review for the best albums thread but my comp messed up and failed to post it, may re-do though as it's *that* good). Sonic New York - Sxip Shirey (still - though sticking to a few tracks rather than full play-throughs now) podcasts from Broken20 label + Assorted Deftones stuff again.
Stolen Babies just posted a new song on their Myspace called Splatter, so I'm listening to that. It's been a long time since I had me some Stolen Babies. I love it when ladies scream-sing.
