I get my comics news from a variety of sources, none of which are comic news sites.
Here is good, for sure. There's lots of stuff on Whitechapel that I wouldn't have otherwise heard of.
Twitter, when you follow comics people, is great because they share the neat-o work their friends are doing, as well as keep you up to date on the stuff they are working on.
On a rare occasion, Coilhouse will do a post about comics, which is great. Wouldn't have found Escape From Dullsville, or any other stuff by Ristaino without them. He's now a favorite.
I love comics. I want to make them for a living. But I haven't found a website that caters to the indie, self-published, or weird comics, and those are the ones I really dig. Usually I follow publishers news if they publish stuff I really like, but end up missing a lot that way. So I tend to just listen when someone with good taste says to read this graphic novel or that comic.

Honestly, I don't go out of my way to chase down comics news unless it's something I've been hyped about for a while. As a lot of people have said previous, I tend to get a lot of decent info from the people on here - like-minded people and all that. I occasionally check publisher sites if they've got a writer/artist I like doing a series for them; but Whitechapel and twitter seem to be the best way for me to go. There's a lot of stuff I would never have even looked at if it wasn't for all of you guys - so thanks!

Although thinking about my comments above I suspect I am really talking about more of an online comics magazine (a magazine about comics and not a "comics magazine") - no pressure to be the very first to announce some scrap of comics news but taking a bit more time to look at the large picture, consult sources and provide a more rounded and useful overview of events. Blogs and news sites compete to be the ones to break some story about the latest title a comic company has announced and that rather killed comics magazines like Comics International which can't hope to compete on that front. It'd still be providing news but a more rounded and insightful picture that I know I'd be more interested in reading, as opposed to ADHD comics news sites like CBR where I find myself sticking my hand out into the news-drizzle to see if anything catches my interest but I am increasingly relying on others to pass along interesting developments.
