The best way to start these things is to get everyone saying hello. So please introduce yourselves in this thread, adding a photo if you've got one (trust me -- the web works much better when people see that there are real people on the other end of a post).

Obviously, if you've said hello in previous Introduction threads, there's no need to do it again.

We don't insist on real names here. I find it helps, but, frankly, if you want to be a completely fictional invention of yourself, go right ahead. Hell, I've even known people who have started out fictional and then become their own invention.

    Hello. I'm Warren.

    Hi, I'm writer Russell Lissau.

I'm incredibly late to Whitechapel; I've been meaning to stop by, register and join in with the chatting for ages -- but one thing or another distracts me.

In addition to being a journalist working in suburban Chicago, I write comics -- most prominently six issues or so of The Batman Strikes for DC. My credits also include the Shrek Free Comic Book Special, a self-published one-shot called The 29, a short story in the recent Omega Comics Presents #2 and a bunch of books coming out this year and in 2011.

I was a big fan of The Engine, which brings me here today. Hello, everyone.

    Hi,
My name's Liam, though I mostly work under the Kid Ritalin handle, so tend to use that for forums.
My main interest is music - I co-run Little Rock Records netlabel, who have put out over 60 free downloads over four years, and also deal in limited edition vinyl runs. (Little Rock site is suffering maintenance issues and all the releases can be found here)
I DJ - I haven't done a proper mix in a while, but we have a regular slot on Radiomagnetic.com, which is generally mixed.
I produce music and MC, with dub an essential component, both as a philosophy and a style. Tracks can be found on my soundcloud. Some of these will be released through Little Rock Records in the near future.

Literature, sci-fi, comics and fiction are a major part of how I feel about writing and music, and I've found so much interesting stuff on Whitechapel in the past that I feel I should contribute to some of the ongoing discussions

I also do occaisonal flatting work for the artists of Hope St Studios.

    Hi all,

I seem to have followed Russell over here from Panel and Pixel. I'm a writer in NYC, work in ebook publishing and production, and I am a recovering cynic. The words string together and I figure out what to call it most resembles when I am done, often I call it a comic script, but the last couple years I've been calling them short stories as well, and just finished my first triathlon. I write with this group, http://postcardfictioncollaborative.blogspot.com/, mostly former classmates. The working title of my current novel "<ul>it gets a title when its done</ul>. Cheers

Hello, My name is David Hahn and I am a penciller/inker and sometimes writer and colorist. I haven't frequented message boards in quite a while, but want to get back to online community discussions. I am currently penciling and inking the Victoria issue of RED for WildStorm, so this forum seems the most appropriate place to start posting again. Thank you!

I can stop lurking and join to blather about myself, right? That's not the least bit egomaniacal...

I'm Miki. No, really, legal name...not an homage, given the setting here.

I'm a Jane of all Trades, master of some. Just got my second degree (first was nursing because I needed something quick, easy and profitable) in Molecular Biology, Chemistry a few months ago. I can do pretty much anything that I invest some attention on. I have been doing websites (one of the many things I "do" - heh) since I taught myself to code at the ripe age of 12 (yay, notepad!). I currently run a Palahniuk-esque forum, as well as host/design/etc several other websites. I'm an over-analytical, logical, rational, reasoning problem-solver. I suppose sometimes when I don't censor myself I go a little too far (really: I related Inception's dream-states to multi-dimensional theory), and I'll probably wind up with some severe form of psychiatric illness shortly (hasn't happened in the last three decades, so odds are in my favor! yay!). I have a savior complex. I want to be in charge of a huge think-tank someday, but I believe I can settle for just doing some eugenics work or getting some huge breakthrough in genetics in my lifetime... or doing something else equally stimulating (if I can't really make a breakthrough in any field, perhaps I'll just write one into my history). :P

I can do this forever, as I am very much in love with myself.

A face-making photog for reference, FWIW:
I'm too lazy...so, linked from FB. lol

Now to go post-whore up this bitch.

    Hello there.
My name is Madeleine. Maddie sometimes.

I'm a 22-year-old film student in Santa Fe, NM. Hoping to join the Local 600. If that doesn't work out I want to be paid to blow things up.
I'm very small but I can probably drink more than you.

    This is suspicious me.

    Hello. My name is Kelvin.
    I'm 29 years old.

I have a twitter. I quite like twitter.

Looking for a new home on the internet.

It is winter in Australia. Which, I realise, isn't much of a winter when compared to most other places in the world, but I have grown warm, comforting facial hair all the same.

I keep editing this because I can't get the bloody flickr link to work.

    I'm Trevor.

I have been writing experimental electronic music (sorta Industrial/IDM) for about a decade and been self publishing it under the handle IRON IMP since 2004 at:

    http://www.ironimp.com
    http://www.myspace.com/ironimp

I've presently got 3 free full length albums available for download, 1 music video and some virtual instrument plugins I made. Music has been very rewarding, but I'd like to devote my focus to pursuing video work.

I discovered Warren's existence and work through Transmet, and subsequently reinforced my enthusiasm for his work when I bought the launch copy of A Crooked Little Vein. Will be reading Freak Angels next.

I aggressively consume movies, print media and videogames.

    Hi :)

This is my first and only music video, to date. Stop motion animated in Photo shop + Premiere. Took 2 years to assemble (not including writing the music).

This video is about 95% original artwork, hand-sketched, digital and photographed. At points it features me (briefly) and ends with my personal logo/sigil/symbol/icon.
