the new TALK IS POISON 7" is not nearly as mind blowing as their old material (there was a nine year gap, after all) but despite the dumb title, RAGE TO INFINITY is not only the best song on it, but possibly one of the best punk songs of the year so far!

Listening to an advance copy of Grinderman 2. It is really fucking epic - found myself singing along to the tracks on the first listen, always a good sign.
Argh! Want! Heard the single thus far and it sounds awesome. Music fanboy droolage. Finding yourself singing along first time is a very good sign... Supposed to be seein them live soonish.
I've been listening to a lot of Sun Ra and the instrumental tracks from Zappa's Man from Utopia (if you haven't heard these yet check em out they are WEIRD).
This Sun Ra track was cut in 1956 but sounds like it's from tomorrow
Been listening to the new THEMES record 'The Phantom' on repeat now for a while. Dark, theatrical, noisy, loud and beautiful.

Listening to Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros, after hearing "Coma Girl" over the XM at the coffee house yesterday. I'll most likely follow this up with some Big Audio Dynamite, just for symmetry.
You know, not nearly enough attention is paid to post-Clash Joe Strummer.
I spend a lot of time with my two small children and right now we listen to considerable amounts of They Might Be Giants (particularly the Here Comes Science album), T. Rex, Daft Punk, and Deadmau5.
