SITREP13AUG10: Due to unforeseen and somewhat horrific triskaidekatechnical difficulties, we're extending this skip through this week and next, too. FREAKANGELS returns on the 27th.

In all seriousness, Paul's been put on medical leave. He's going to be fine, but as a personal favor to Warren and I, can we keep the comments to well wishes and comments about the comic, and dodge the usual upset about skip weeks making for sad Fridays? Thanks, everyone.

I know, we just had one. Apparently Paul's biology didn't get the memo that all illnesses should be coordinated to week before last. So it's another skip, yeah.

So, but all right, there's no crying in Whitechapel. What did everyone do this week when they weren't here? And how're we all doing?

    aw poor spoonybard.

this week I lost sensation in my thumb, missed several deadlines, discovered that the bite out of the apple on my laptop logo is a reference to alan turing biting a poisoned apple and finally i just made a delicious sandwich.

The review by the survivors of the SDCC is still coming in.

Much of the conservative populace (here in San Diego) breathes a collective sigh of relief when all those comix-freaks have spent their money and gone home before realizing that, wait.. !
Hey, those guys fit right in!
    Yes !
They exemplify the Southern California lifestyle because in addition to looking wildly dangerous and crazy, any of them could also be carrying a surfboard or experimenting with drugs at any given time !!!

Even though we always seem to have an excess of Imperial Storm Troopers, there are never enough Cute Vampire/Vixen Space Hookers.
    (-Note for next year.)

PS- Get well Paul ! As chief graphics man, artist and technician, you could be outsourced, but it would probably take at least 20 Chinese or Indian chaps to do the same thing, and the time-lags would be horrible !!

Blah week all around, so a skip week fits in perfectly with how things are (Nothing horrible, but nothing amazing)
Hoping to get to a comic shop this weekend, but buddy's wedding may not allow me the time.

@Jack - happen to everyone, don't sweat it
@Staticgirl - just checked out some of your art on a whim. If I couldn't get FreakAngels, I figured I I should check out some one's stuff. Really nice, glad I did.

The usual fights with insurance providers and attempts to obtain medical care in the United States of America in the year 2010. Amazing but true.

Could have used an episode this week but understand. Paul, get better soon. Ariana, nice of you to fall on your sword and take one for the team.

Paul, get better soon from me, too!

The health of the contributors is more important than the comic, otherwise there wouldn't be a comic. So unchain him from the desk, put him back in his cage with some fresh straw and tell him to get better or else!!

    Please get better, Paul! :)

I also got sick this week. I'm better now, but I feel bad for Paul. Illness is no fun. I had to use up some sick leave from my summer job, which sucks because I get paid for all the hours I don't use. Oh well.
    Get better soon, Paul.

So the week started out okay, but then took a dive. Right as my depression was peaking, I got a bit of junk mail telling me that I am now old enough to apply for discounted funeral insurance to save my loved ones the grief of dealing with the cost of burying my corpse.

Of course, this just reminded me that (a) my health sucks, (b) I'm getting old, and (c) I have no loved ones beyond the cat horde. At least they ought to get a few good meals out of me before the smell brings in the neighbors and/or the police, once I do kick off.

    And now no Freakangels.

If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go pour myself an adult libation and ride out the rest of this cycle of depression and maudlin self-pity.

    (Feel better, Paul!)

    hope Paul gets reanimated soon...

I've had a long, dreary week, but am now off work for two weeks to spend time with my girlies. My handover meeting Outlook invite to my team was entitled 'Jon's Demob-Happy Orgy Of Flinging Crap At You', which pretty much sums it up. I think they took it in the right spirit (or they're plotting ways to destroy me while I'm off). Couldn't make my Crackberry turn off, think I finally killed it. Bliss. Tonight I drink and dance naked in the rain.

Ah well, these things happen, i shall just have to wait a little longer and hope that Mr Duffield recovers in time to get the episode up for next friday.
My best wishes to him and everyone else here who might be feeling a bit under the weather.

Take care, Paul, be good to yourself.

Week has been slow and steady. If I were disciplined I could have taken over the world with what I was handed this week. But I'm lazy and sloppy so nothing doing. As it is, I'm rather glad that today's work plans that would have made me drive into LA got put off until Monday. Even though, had the work plans gone through today, it would have put me in a fine position to get to some wine bars tonight, then I could review them and earn a few pennies (the work is a volunteer effort).

Central thing I wanted to do this week failed miserably (register for a class at the local college), so I have to try to petition in two weeks, which means I can't plan my fall too much until I find out if I get in the class. Secondary thing - selling a bunch of crap the former tenants of our house left behind - so far isn't working. I'd like to take my time with it but the crap is taking up space that other people want (namely my mom) and said people want it gone yesterday.

    and I'm out of alcohol.

No episode!? Bah! What do we pay you people for?

    Oh, right.... ;D

Week at work was hellish. Actually had a client sit me down and outline everything he thought was wrong with the way we do business, and I couldn't refute a single point. Had to sit the boss down yesterday and do exactly the same thing to him, which may actually do some good (and didn't get me fired).

Heading out to a mate's place tonight to wipe my mind clean with an all night, big screen Seinfeld marathon.

Hope you feel better soon Paul!

Aw, feel better soon Paul. *sends love & virtual hugs* etc.

Okayish week for me, going on holiday next Saturday (and will miss 3!! Freakangel Fridays!) but only to another part of the UK (up to deepest darkest Norfolk). The boy is on holiday from school and the hubby is being shitted on by the government (43% workforce cuts by next year, he'll have to fire half the people he works with, at least up until they fire him too). So he's a bit miserable, and the 5 year old is overexcited, and I'm in the middle attempting to organise their lives and be the cushion for both their crazy moods. Eesh. No idea how *I* feel about anything...not sure there's space for that!

Though saying that, I do appear to be re-discovering my photographers eye a little, which *does* please me. *crosses fingers*
