I'll be there Saturday and Sunday, with the possibility of hitting the Hyatt bar if I get in at a decent enough time Friday (driving up from Indianapolis)...
I'll be set up in Artist Alley, table 3118, for the weekend -- along with table mates Trevor Mueller, John Bivens, Alan Evans and Steve Wallace. We've got a row of three tables, and it'll be sweet because everyone but Alan contributed to the new "Reading With Pictures" anthology. So people can buy a copy from one of us and have all of us sign it -- if they choose.
Sorry folks, I'm going to be a no-show this year. Busy with big freelance projects, plus in the "not ready to show" portion of the next comics projects I'm working on. Have a blast for me, though.
nope my next show is Detroit Fanfare in October, and then Mid Ohio Con a week later. Wizard world Chicago really has gone downhill in the past few years, so I will probably stick to C2E2 for future Chicago shows.
At wwchi. A lot of stuff is still setting up, and things are fairly low key here at the moment. Saw the delorean and some cars, a few people dressed up and stopped at the blick booth for artstuff and also stopped at the massive avatar booth. It really is something to see all the variant covers lined up!
Walked out and about in artist's alley several times. Could not find any "reading with pictures". Found a guy with sugar cookies though. Sorry we couldn't find you, Russ.
Con was decent, Patrick Stewart didn't show (I guess he canceled last minute for something). Lots of people. Boxes of comics for sale everywhere, lots of artists, not too many pannels though, and not too many extravagant costumes, that I saw -- too hot outside, I think. Met Rich from Bleeding cool, had a few short conversations with various random people, and didn't have that bad of a time, all things considered. The convention didn't feel huge; but I liked it best on the first and last days, seeing it come up and go down. Lots of kids dressed up- mini-vaders, deadpools, and princesses and wonder-women.
