Assorted Stars of the Lid tracks at the moment, will probably move onto Aphex Twin's Ambient Works Vol II after this. It's going to be a very droney day.
The new Matthew Dear album, Black City, is immense. It's the best Nine Inch Nails album ever. This superb EP off Black Lanterns, Orders From Mars by Krowne. A band called Civil Civic, because Bandcamp is full of treasure. And Squarepusher's benchmark Music Is Rotted One Note, which is best administered as night music.
THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS have had a fair playing today. SOUL COUGHING are the perfect accompaniment for 1am coffee while procrastinating at the computer [ie: right now] WASHINGTON have just released their first full length album "I Believe You Liar" and it does not disappoint.
Black Feelings, a band from Montreal, i think, who sound like 70s brit-punk filtered through a Comets on Fire record. hrm.
plus the new Books, Menomena, and Broken Social Scene.
for the last week or so i've been listening to "1901" by Phoenix on repeat. it's a really amazing driving song. haven't the foggiest what the lyrics are, but the song itself is just triumph, somehow.

Swans - My Father Will Guide Me Up A Rope To The Sky - I enjoyed the hell outta the 'sketches' for this record (I am not insane) and this IS living up to the good reviews I've read.
Genki Sudo's World Order - the track Mind Shift at the moment is kicking my ass. I've heard 2 cuts off this LP and I wants it.
I'm listening to Baba Brinkman - Rapconteur, a free album converting part of the Canterbury Tales, Beowulf, the Kallevala, and Gilgamesh into hip-hop. Its brilliant.
I've been checking out Boat Beam who feature a girl who used to be in a fucking brilliant band called Terrapin when she used to live in Sydney. I tracked her down a couple of years after they broke up and she sent me their EP and some other tidbits. I love her voice.
Other than that; the ipod is on shuffle and I'm mostly stopping to take in this David Lynch audio book, 'Catching The Big Fish', which he reads.
