Thanks for the nice comments, guys.

Felipe, THAT is just beautifull... twisted and ugly, but SO beautifull.

I couldn't NOT get into this one.

A little spare - no time to put in the titles of stories or anything fancy like such - which is a bummer because I'm feeling inspired tonight... But I got the guts, which is to take a simple scene ( a hitchhiker ) and take it as far from Earthly as possible.

So much quality in this thread - just looking back over it, there's a lot that I missed the first time thru. And cheers, all, for the kind words.

@sizer - I think your red 3D "WEIRD TALES" title is the best bit of type in the thread, by the way.

Thanks guys. I posted this earlier in the month, but here's the drawings I did:

I was hired to do three steampunk illustrations for the Spring 2010 issue of WEIRD TALES for the story "AS RECORDED ON BRASS CYLINDERS: ADAGIO FOR TWO DANCERS"
by James L. Grant and Lisa Mantchev.

So here's my entry. Drawn entirely in vector with some color touch ups in photoshop. Not too happy with the overall design of the cover, but it's late here and I need to call it a night at some point before my eyes bleed out.
