I am also a fan of Paterson Joseph... but would make him green.

    Doctor13ho

This Doctor wouldn't be evil so much as... well, he's given up. He just wants to settle down on some nice cold planet with his former-killer botanist love-bot. Nothing complicated.

    The logo was obvious.

    @Ariana
What is the deal with those things? Are there really telephones in there? I'm always tempted to pry one of those open when I'm out riding my bike, but then I'm afraid if might be full of vagrant semen.

oh, shit! and, in addition to my previous outburst:

I like the idea of the 13th visually resembling a younger William Hartnell, with the implication being that the Doctor's regenerations are cyclical. I just read Harlan Ellison's Pheonix and was, again, totally headspun by this idea (the cyclical nature of time) in the best possible way. it just feels natural to think that every end is a beginning, which is the Doctor's regeneration process in a nutshell, after all, isn't it?

which brings me to a question: obviously the actors in the roles age, so I feel that it is safe to assume that each of the Doctor's incarnations age in turn. certainly in the modern era of Who, the regenerations are trending downward in youth. are we willing to assume from that, as might be inferred from the earliest entries in this thread, that each subsequent incarnation will be younger than the last, at least initially, upon regeneration?

the seeds of the Doctor struggling against his "dark side personified" have already been planted (the Dream Lord). you've done very well continuing to convey the serial killer schizophrenia vibe here. how many deaths has he caused, indirectly or not, in his long career as The Doctor? it's conceivable that his guilt over that could exercise a segment of his consciousness that actually enjoyed the killing, which is what this design evokes, for me anyway.

@Ben Templesmith: Loving the RAF T-shirt. Lots of people are punking the Doctor out, but I think that's sold it the best to me.

@Mattk: That fingerprint logo is damn cool. I would have no objection to that replacing the current logo.

@Paul: Holy wow, man. I love it all, but I think my favorite part is that K-9 just isn't even trying to hide anymore. Tres cool.

Ow wow this thread, and the work and thoughts here are completely amazing. I have to begin work immediately, I am coming into this a few days in, but I sincerely hope I can do the Doctor justice.

    @chris g - Nice!
    Here's mine.
    TimeLordFlav
I guess my thinking went: Time Lord --> Clocks --> Flavor Flav...
Why are you looking at me like that?

    @ Erisah

If I actually remembered what he looked like, maybe, otherwise, happy coincidence. ( As with all the people on iO9 saying it looks like Matt Smith, David Tennant or David Bowie. ) I actually chose to be vaguely realistic about it. Let's face it, they'll go with someone who looks good, won't alienate/challenge too much and be vaguely "trendy". Since the leather jacket's been done already, the suit has been done already and now the dweeby tweet/bowtie are all old, why not a bit of mod/casual cool? I wasn't trying to be outlandish. ( Ok, K9 is a bit of a pisstake )

I actually wanted him to look a bit like Moffat's Sherlock, Benedict Cumberbatch.

    @ Alan Tyson

Yeah, the idea being it becomes quite a rotation of interesting visuals/gags/communication etc. And I really want a RAF T-shirt myself, so I have a bias.

Love all the Doctors so far. Really looking forward to Annie's if she does one up.

Warren, you are, indeed, the siren of geekery with your call to remodel Dr.Who 13. :) This is pure beauty.

    Tons of great ones!

Sizer: Love the booth with all your posters on it. I was squinting to look at all of them and then saw that you posted a standalone version, as well. Super cool.

oogliemooglie: That's just a lovely design, and funny.

I forget a lot of the other ones I liked, but they're all good.

Wow. Not three hours ago I told a Whovie friend who's watching this "I'm holding out for Pia Guerra to get in on this." And lo - better than I could have imagined!

I'm loving the TARDIS' brick walls - gives it a really cool, relaxed basement feel, really selling that the TARDIS is as much the Doctor's home and refuge as it is a vehicle.

    The 13th Doctor

For me the Doctor is at his best when he is understated and blending in. I mean, sure he has his quirks, but those are more personality quirks than anything else. I see The Doctor as someone who has to fit in while traveling to the past and the future. I see his 13th incarnation as being the best bits of all his previous incarnations, a sort of who's who of Who for the last hurrah. Not in the way he dresses but in personality. And I LOVE the idea of him cycling back around over and over. With 13 being a young number 1. So I thought how would a young first Doctor look? Especially when he is actually an older now than ever before. Classic overcoat, vest, fobwatch, cargo jeans with pockets that are bigger on the inside (he has been collecting a lot of stuff in his final years) However I picture him being some what disheveled, but not in an extreme way, just a little sloppy. Like a cross between a teenager and a man who is ready for retirement on the weekend. Unshaven, un-tucked, and finally ginger. :)

The new logo is the elemental symbol for what I imagine The Tardis would be grown from. I think it should be 013 on the Time Lord periodic table. I picture the Time Lord periodic table going beginning at 001 and going up to 013, before it starts where ours does with 1.With 001 through 013 being the most basic elements of the universe (you know timey whimey void stuff.)

    >Paul Sizer>I really like your Doctor, even if I never saw the Doctor as straight. (Maybe its the campiness of the RT Davies era...?)
The concrete kiosk is very clever!

So this is my entry, don't mock me if some of my sentence are weird, I'm french:

    13th Doctor and companion

This Doctor like feeling the grass under his bare feet while thinking. He's a mourning man; serious, tormented and restless.
For his companion I first wanted to draw a dude because the Doctor really needs some wild gay butt sex, but instead my hand draw this lady.
She's a killer robot who's memory have been wiped out, her emotion center is damaged so even in the worst situation possible she can only feel happiness -much to her dismay- . She often put the Doctor's patience to a challenge, bringing a comedy element this Doctor lack of.

    Also,
    YAY! TENTACLE PORN!!

Alan Tyson -- thank you! The idea might almost work with a really simplified fingerprint design. And speaking of logo designs...

bruceohughes -- good work with the 13/W intersection. I tried scribbling out something like that after my first logo idea, but was too lazy to make it work. I knew that someone would pick up the torch I had fumbled, or something like that. :-) Very fine drawing, too.

@bruceohughes - I love the 13/W logo. It's one of those things that you wouldn't think to do but seems obvious and fitting after you do it. It makes you say to yourself "why didn't I think of that?"

@Pia Guerra - I really like your TARDIS interior. I love the time rotor and console. The rest of the interior reminds me of a cross between the Chris Eccleston/David Tennant interior and the Torchwood hub - in a good way. Plus you can never have too much Sally Sparrow. I suppose one of the best compliments I could give would be to say it looks like something the producers of the show would actually do.
