Man, guys. Some awesome art and great ideas. I love to see that people gears are turning with the designs too.

In my head: Jeremy Brett's Holmes body language, Tilda Swinton's andro-beauty, Pertwee's flamboyance, Blank Reg's spirit. This seemingly ends up looking like Digitalyn's aged future self in a Willy Wonka costume. (this is not a bad thing)

    the thirteenth.

A time loop. The doc takes in his/her grandkid, and raises her, while keeping a look out for his first self to give her to.

The logo was to represent the combination of genetics and gender, and the backwards going back to the beginning.

The buttons of the vest would have question marks, and the questioncane is fully adaptable to desired length. The TARDIS would be fixed at some point (sacrillege, I know), but always with bits of police box sticking through.

@Berserker I really like your art style. Reminds me a little bit of Matt Howarth.

I'm so glad to have been a part of these latest remake:remodel-threads: Guerra, Sizer, Templesmith, Wu... them's the big guns.

    @Berserker: TEMPLESMITH!!! :D

Not only did Rachael's comment nearly make me gag my tea, but there has been some steady brilliance in this R/R

I always liked the idea of The Doctor coming full circle with his last regeneration. So, I went with a younger variation of the First Doctor. Being at the end of his life, he's a little darker than previous versions, hence the black coat and the noir-ish fedora. The rest of his clothing, having seen 900+ years, is extremely faded, and meant to look as if it didn't quite make the full jump to color.

    My 13th Doctor
Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster. I was inspired to post by this topic, because I just happened to start doing fanart again for the first time in 3 years - I drew the 10th Doctor. Amazing timing. Anyways, here's my offering. It may not be as imaginative as some of the others - everyone's stuff is really amazing. I really would love to see all of these made.

Mine's pretty-much based on story speculation. The concept is an older, more balanced 13th doctor. He has lost old hang-ups about family and the Time Lords. He doesn't do understated or modesty, and he has given up the lonely, angsty, doctor lark. He's training Jenny (his cloned daughter) up on TARDIS piloting, maintenance and general awesomeness. He wears his species on his sleeve - well, his jacket... They're both happy on their travels, because what do you have to worry about when you're The Oncoming Storm. The logo turns the DW into a roman numeral XIII to commemorate the doctor's final regeneration. (Final? Nah, that'll just be another episode... :D )

@Greg Sullivan - Howarth, huh? I never seem to get compared to the same artist twice, but I always seem to get compared to good artists, at least. I'm a little curious as to how my stuff reminds everyone of someone different though...weird.

@Art Grafunkel - Well, crap. That's the first thought I had too when I finished it. ( If you look back to the first page you can see I've already been in trouble for rendering, um, likenesses in this R/R... ) So, for the record, it's NOT him, they just have similarly incredible senses of style.
If everyone else sees Templesmith in my version it might not be long for this thread. Again.

I've tried uploading a couple times from a flickr account before with almost no success. (EDIT BY WARREN - BECAUSE YOU LINKED TO THE PAGE, NOT THE IMAGE ON THE PAGE.) Two panel scene with Warren Ellis as The Master, The Doctor is Churchill. Well, it is supposed to look more like Churchill-less like an effeminate Penguin.

If anyone can help out, I'd be much obliged- please put any explanation in terms using my cutting edge understanding of technology: carrier pigeons and rocks.

Love all the submissions so far, great work everyone!

@Lordofthejungle: That is one fab doctor, and some really glorious coloring. I love the companion - I think she's my favorite one so far!
  8.  (8823.174)
@Alan Tyson: Thanks very much sir! I got the colours from the TIME VORTEXXXX! The companion is Jenny, the Doctor's Daughter from the show (s04e06 - 2008). I wanted to do someone more of my own making, basically like a Kaylee from Firefly but as a Time Lord. Then I thought I have to pick Jenny! Running from family and commitment got the doctor going on his mission first, so I think the 13th doctor should reconcile that, she just fits. It's amazing work on every page though! I had to hold off looking at it until just now! I'm still trying to pick a favourite. So strong. Have you done one?

Sorry for the busted URL, fixed it.

@tubbypaws, that TARDIS/Doctor blew my mind. Lovely!

Brainstorming the words "thirteen" and "doctor", two images kept coming to mind (once I finally banished DC's "Dr. Thirteen"). Which of these is the Doctor and which is the Doctor's companion is an exercise left to the reader. :)

    doctor the 13th

Basically, he's Mos Def traveling with an awe-shucks kid from '50's middle america, and an early 80's punk chick.

Pencil, pen and crayon wielding people do seem to be coming out of the woodwork for this one. I haven't done enough of these to know whether this is par for the course or a genuinely greater draw than usual... either way it's great.

If any/all of these threads act as some sort of ultrasonic whistle for artsy and creative people, speaking for myself it's a fine thing. Sometimes that creative impulse goes asleep, yet is very excited to be prodded awake with a rudely sharpened stick.

@ mattk, I couldn't agree more! And I may just have to right that down! lol

Just got my reference photos together... give us a one day extension Warren. For the sake of kids with new jobs that they hate?
