I was giggling...up until I figured out how the rest of that movie would work, and the first half would end with Mickey Mouse batshit insane, yelling out the rules of command before blowing his brains out with a rifle. Hnn. Didn't think there was any more of my childhood left to ruin. :'(

I must say, this little gem from one of the many images boards (4chan perhaps) really tickles my gullet

In keeping with this week's theme, here's something awesome from 1993.

    Doctor Who VW ad
    how fucking clever.

There's nothing that makes me as happy as Doctor Who. Now I need a Volkswagon.

This is a really really exceptionally well-curated photo-tumblr named Melisaki

It has a lot of great selections from professional photography of the second-half-of-20th century which is usually invisible to the internet's view of history:

And last-decade stuff which I am always like "where the hell has this awesome photo been??"

    And fucked-up collages

and lots of naked women, as stipulated in the Tumblr terms of service

    That is wonderful.

I've been enjoying The Selvedge Yard which is primarily a style blog but don't let that put you off because there's some awesome old photographs on there. Including this:

@Vornaskotti. that arm would be fantastic if it had a steam motor attached to the back.

Apparently there's a hostage crisis at The Discovery Channel of all places. 8 hostages, lone gunman. His website, savetheplanetprotest.com, is currently down; probably from high volume traffic.

    Article Link

    Cached link to his demands.

Crazy shit. All immigrants are apparently global pollution and we must force other countries to exterminate filthy anchor babies. He's like a weird, ultra conservative hippy.

    That is crazy.

Speaking of hysterical conservatives...I dare you to read this piece of "fair and balanced" journalism from Fox News: John Cusack Calls for 'Satanic Death' of Fox News, GOP Leaders

    @Vornaskotti -
Seems strangely fitting considering how the movie ends.

He's dead now and I wonder how long it will be until Fox News goes, "CRAZY LIBERALS OUT TO KILL US ALL OMGWTFBBQ!"

“He’s still dead,” Ms. Brabner said over the phone, in a characteristic display of resilience through black comedy. “When he comes back, rolls away the rock, I’ll let you know.”

NYTimes Article about the web project Harvey Pekar was working on when he passed away, about other things he had in the pipeline. It seems our mans life was complex right up until the end, and he obviously never stopped fucking writing.
The article ultimately made me feel for Joyce though. She was with him longer than anyone in his entire life, and it's obvious her life revolved around him. My heart goes out to her. Being a Neurotic Pain in the Ass myself, I know how hard we make life for our loved ones sometimes. Her world must be feeling empty right now. I hope she comes through ok.

I just recently got reminded about this. It's the second stop-motion animation I've done (excluding stuff I did as a kid)
