Faced with the astounding success of arch-rival Mans Life's weasel article (see last month's Around the Net) True Men magazine crafted their own tale of flesh ripping. Sadly all the good mammals were taken...

    Mens Adventure

There's a whole bunch of these covers at The Art of Manliness. Ah for the good old days when men were men and wild animals were nervous!

Yes, that's a technician climbing a 1700 foot transmission tower largely without safety lines.

@taphead That video was not improved by being shot with a wide angle lens. At the end when he was standing on the top, before he set his safety line that's when I lost it.

Yes, I'd probably build a robot like that for Laurie Hagen too...

Another thing they didn't discuss in the commentary was how far those things move horizontally at the top. Some antennae have lifts in the midsection and a friend of mine got to go up in one in Knoxville for journalistic reasons. He said that it was swaying at the top something in the range of 10-15 feet at the top in the wind. Gives me the Hee-bees just thinking about it. There's no way I'm going up there without a parachute.

"On August 1, the Pacific Sun ran into a heavy storm 400 miles north of New Zealand, hitting 25-foot-tall waves and 50-knot winds. Its 1732 passengers weren't prepared to endure the madness that ensued. Absolutely crazy.

The video seems like a slapstick comedy until you see people smacking against columns and walls. However, they were lucky: After returning to Auckland from its eight-night trip to the Vanuatu islands, only 42 passengers were injured.

One of the passengers said: "It was like being in a disaster movie. There were screams and people crying as they looked for their lost children." It sounds exactly like a cruise in good weather, but with moving furniture."

I reckon that taps into one of the two primal fears we have from birth: Falling and Loud Noises.

Americans will deep fry anything edible. Having been to a number of state and county fair's over here, this is a small sampling of the deep fried goodies ive seen/sampled:
Coca Cola, Twinkies, Oreo's, Snickers Bar, Ice Cream, Bacon, Pizza, Pickles, Macaroni & Cheese balls, Turkey, Milk balls, Cookie Dough, Apple Slices, Cadbury Creme Eggs, and Cheese Curds.

I know there are more but thats all i could come up with from memory.
