You can disagree with their misunderstanding of evolution (and apostrophes), but that's a catchy campfire tune.

Facebook is having serious issues and keeps going down. The internet is panicking. I cant' tell if this is hilarious or just sad...

William Gibson is the high prophet of cyberpunk and future-noir, whatever that means. “No Maps for These Territories” is a ninety minute documentary interview with one of Ectomo’s favourite writers William Gibson. It is eighty minutes of William Gibson being interviewed by voices off-camera while on the book tour for “All Tomorrow’s Parties ” and about five minutes of Bruce Sterling singing the praises of William Gibson.

The upload is recent, August 2010, and before I acquired a copy of the film from a friend the only way I had to find out the contents of this film was from the wikiquote page. I urge you to watch this.

@looneynerd. I'm sad to say I am also 'panicking'... but only because at this moment and time FB is the only contact I have with my husband, who I was supposed to chat with today :(

but I've had problems with all the various social network styled sites today... hmmm coincidence?

I discovered this for the first time yesterday and my inner geek is still convulsing with anticipatory pleasure.
    Space Battleship Yamato 2010

I am so excited to see this live action modern version of the 70s anime series with shiny slick visual effects.
This was a childhood favorite for me. I used to book it home from the bus stop, pour a big bowl of cereal and bliss out to the Starforce trying to save Earth from the nasty Gamilons and later the Comet Empire. This was a key part of my geek development and its always had a very special place in my heart.
Now... the trouble is it is only being released in Japan on Dec 1st. My head is going to explode if I have to wait months for a US DVD release... and I'm not even daring to hope that it gets theatrical release.
Fun fun shiny space opera laser battles and corny songs. I'm in freaking heaven... but tortured over how long it may be til I can see it.
