Wow, those panorama shots are absolutely stunning. I think the hotel my friends stayed in back in '04 was at a similar level above the skyline, it is such a breathtaking sight. I love Katie's self-portraits, it's amazing to see her in a completely different locale, particularly one as visually intricate as Tokyo. Katie really dominates the lens in all of her shots, so it is fascinating to watch her compete against Japanese ephemera and landscapes.

In short, WANT.

I ordered one yesterday, waiting in the airport for a flight. It was the most 21st century purchase I've ever made, learned it was available via a web community posting, from an airport, while travelling, over an Android phone, via paypal, for a POD magazine which will be first printed and then physically mailed to me at home, where it will be waiting for me when I return.

These are the days of miracles and wonder, this is a long distance call...

Woo hoo, just got home and look what was in the mailbox:

This is the first MagCloud Magazine I've physically seen. It's really nice:

The paper is on the thin side, and sometimes the colors are occasionally more mushy than they'd be in a non-POD magazine:

But most non-POD magazines are boring, and Nanoka is interesting - it is very well put together with 88 pages of great photos an a lot more writing than I expected - I'm looking forward to reading through it - it is definitely not a one sitting read:

I have not shown you any of the most gorgeous photos in here - you should get the magazine. It is lovely and unique. The photography is arresting and the look at Tokyo is one I haven't seen before. I haven't sat down to read it yet, but there looks to be quite a bit of depth in personal observation and artistic thought that went into the creation of this, and I'm very happy to have it in my hands!

Yay! I'm glad you like it.
I agree that the paper is a bit thin - and I wish that the cover could be different stock than the rest of the magazine, but other than that I thought the quality pretty good for POD.
:)

I believe that if you have a mag under 60 pages, the paper quality is much better. I guess they off set their costs by reducing it with larger publications.
