I’ve really not had much of an opportunity to get out and about, as I’ve been not only sick but catching up on a couple of projects after having gotten back from a work trip.
here are a few shots from a hike in a local park, a local landmark, and a recent Hot Hot Heat concert.
I was sitting at the bar when this couple came in and while her boyfriend (at least I'm pretty sure he was) was talking ninety miles a minute, she sat there looking vaguely pensive. I snapped a couple shots, but something about the hints of people at the frame make the shot for me.
And thanks for that link, @howyadoin - I'm starting to at least sig-tag my images in a frame. It's fucking tedious, and I'm still tweaking the font and size and such, but... it's a good thing? iIm having trouble figuring out a sweet spot between readability and subtlety - especially since my vision is shit.
Anyway.... YAY! Sam Harris! The lecture/signing was held by the Center for Inquiry, and they'd like to use my photos for their publication.
While in Nashville I viewed the Dale Chihuly exhibit at the Cheekwood Botanical Gardens. Chihuly is an amazing glass artist and eye-patch wearer! A few highlights of the fantastic installation:
More will be on m flickr when I sort through all of the files.
Out of (possibly morbid) interest, is the glass artistry and eye-patch wearing merely a correlation, or is there a causal link in there somewhere? I did some glass art once, and whilst it was awesome fun/fun and awesome, molten glass is not something to dick around with.
This guy looks like he can make some real pretties though.
@Erisah - the eye patch is the result of a car accident that required 250+ stitches to his face. Not glass related, unless you count windshield. Here's 2 more:
Really? Were you one of the people interviewed? Wait, maybe I have a photograph of you.... Did you get interviewed by the TV crew with a fellow wearing thick rimmed glasses?
