I wish I'd been around for proper FM broadcasting. Internet radio is just not the same for the listener. Speaking of handovers, my show goes out after a folk show, which is probably not the best scheduling idea. I can't imagine I retain any live listeners from that.

I made a video for the single from my new EP, which is out on Friday on Black Lantern Music. Hope you enjoy! This is (sort of) how we do hiphop in Scotland...

Interesting that you're rapping in 6/8 time, texture. I've never heard anybody do that before

I post on the remake/remodels a lot, first time posting here outside of them. I have a few music projects, metal, funk and a cover song one as well. Its the bottom 5 links at the top of my page: BROTHERMANIAC, STEEL MOTH, KARAOKE DEATHCAMP, THE MISSING STINK, THE MAN FROM NOD there are players on eachof the pages except Brothermanaiac, which is not my project, I just contribute, it has its own website. Thanks for letting us post!

@CameronYousef - well noticed! I actually wrote the lyric to a different beat by Blockhead that was in 6/8, but didn't have the musical nous to know that was what I was doing at the time... when I went to record it with Salem Anders, he had a 4/4 beat. It took us a few minutes to figure out why the rhyme didn't fit the beat...then Anders whipped out an old waltz tune, and it fit perfectly over that! He's a classically trained guitarist, so he cottoned on to what I'd done pretty fast. The beat we eventually used had to be re-jigged into the same time signature as the waltz. So it happened by happy accident rather than by design. Cardigan Waltz-Hop... I wonder if it will catch on? :D

Here it is! My new 4-track EP, travelling from hip-hop through electro to house, featuring tracks by Morphamish and Salem Anders, and a guest verse from Kid Ritalin.

    Download 'Synaesthesia'

The EP is completely free, as always. Hope you guys enjoy it. Would love some feedback if you have a moment to spare.

For some reason, known only to meself, I've been out of touch with Whitechapel. Now I've all my ducks in a row again, here's some stuff I've been doodling with as Crawlspace

I just posted a thread for this, but thought it might also find a home here. I play geetar in Royal Monsters. If you live on the west coast of the US, we may be playing in your town in a couple of weeks.

Edited to add: The best description I can give of us is a mixture of Isis and Propagandhi, though I like to think there is more going on in the band than comparison does justice to.

You'll sorta be in my neck o' the woods. I'll make a concerted effort to get to the SF or Berkeley show.

@celan - If you do, say hi! I'll be the guitarist in Royal Monsters wearing either a horror movie shirt, or a comic book shirt. Oh! And I should note that I believe the Berkeley show is a matinee.

sides 1-3 of our double cassette, which is out this Monday.
Someone wrote four pages of liner Notes that Paul Morley would be proud of to accompany it which is included with the tapes.

    We're rather proud of it.

A persistant and rather vicious illness has had me pretty much on my arse for much of the last 2 months but when i wass able to i put together a couple of tracks for the next album of radiophonic miniatures - Phantasms II.

I've uploaded one of them to Soundcloud if anyone is interested

Ian Holloway - There's definitely something out there by quietworld

I use soundcloud as a kind of dumping ground for things that don;lt really have a home anywhere else - the other tracks on there are some 'drum & lounge' pieces i've done, a dub track and a noise drone.

Right, it's been a fortnight, which means it's time for another round of New Music Isn't New. This one's on turntablism, with music by Philip Jeck, Christian Marclay, DJ Spooky, Janek Schaefer and others. Goes out live on Subcity at 1pm Saturday the 4th, and will be available for repeat listening soon afterwards. Hope anyone so inclined as to listen has a good time.

And I'l update tomorrow with a direct link to the repeat listening stream as soon as it exists.
