I think I've learned how to make ringtones from my own music. Anyone have any suggestions for distributing/selling those?

    CHEMICAL POETS - TWENTY TENTACLE

    CHEMICAL POETS - TWENTY TENTACLE

A video shot during the Edinburgh Fringe run of the Chemical Poets show, a hip-hop / spoken word troupe of which I am one third.

*poetry warning* - this is a beat-less, accapella show, so only click play if you're up for 50 minutes of high-speed spoken word! Not for everyone, I'm sure...

    :D

I know there's a few people from Seattle here. Golden Gardens will be playing there at the Lo-Fi Performance Gallery on April 22nd!

I've plugged this before, but you can stream our EP here: At Bandcamp

If there's anyone here in Sydney, tomorrow night (Thurs 10) there is a night of projected films with all sound made live on at the Red Rattler in Marrickville. It's called Living Sound in Silent Light and I came up with it because I had made a short post-apocalypse B&W silent on an infra-red video camera that I'd built out of junk, then scored said film for cello, shortwave radio and 44 gallon drum, and I needed an environment in which to showcase it.

So it's 8-11pm at the Red Rattler, 6 Faversham St Marrickville (walk 2 blocks up Sydenham Rd from Sydenham Station and hang a left between the bowling club and the servo, it's bright red and well lit) $15 at the door. The lineup, in reverse chronology from headliner to opener, is:

Nichols, Russel & Lenz (James Nichols from Svelt, Brackets, Dubtable and Spirits of the Dead; Leigh Russel who builds his own synths; and Konrad Lenz of Spirits of the Dead) with a soundtrack for The Cabinet of Dr Caligari

Transient Atmospheric Phenomena (my band, with what I expect is another temporary name) and Dog Days, which is a silent post-apocalypse film set in Sydney about 30 years after an extinction event

The Surgical Sideshow with some insanity from their live puppetry/prop-driven horrorshow

LC Beats with live beatboxing and samples over his own claymation short

Ibis Nixon with a bastard mashup of scenes from Hitchcock's classic The Lodger and various blaxploitation flicks

So come! It'll be at least bizarre, and probably wicked.

This is my latest instrument, i'm also now accepting commissions for these for costs as low as £50 (depending on how much customisation is wanted), so please pass it on to anyone you know who might want some weird/cheap instruments!

Does anyone have any ideas for promoting my next Mild Maynyrd solo release? Not looking for a handout, or even to make money (I'm currently being commissioned to make a score for a Bauer commercial; my albums aren't for making money); rather, new ideas beyond throwing it up on my Bandcamp page, telling friends about it, and lugging a backpack full of them around the city. HA

[@ TEXTURE: Really dig that "Nemesis" track on your Soundcloud.]

After keeping a fairly low profile for most of last year the releases are now coming thick and fast from me.

In addition to the release on Phonospheric that I mentioned earlier in this thread (12 posts thataway ^) I have another out today on Northampton label Dark Meadow Recordings.

It's another slow drone piece but with significantly less isolationist tendencies than the other one.

you can buy a physical copy directly from the label for a teeny £2

or you can click the blue dot underneath the album and download it for free (for those who cannot be bothered to search for it and just want the dl click here)

First ever Kemper Norton live performance next week. Absolutely terrified. Should be a drunken drug-crazed Hampshire hippy friendly crowd though.

    good luck with it fella.
    will you be recording it?
