    So I was reading the new election thread and noting the various ironic posts about how the tornadoes only hit the states that went for Huckabee. Not for nothing, guys, but they didn't thrill me. Because I spent a good portion of election night huddled in a bathroom with my family with the power blown listening to a radio hoping to God I wasn't about to die. Anyway, here's some pictures of my hometown.

    Part of a dorm that got flattened at a local college. Several girls were trapped for hours in a bathroom.

    Out of a couple thousand cars in the lots, barely a hundred survived intact

    Thanks. It wasn' exactly fun, no, but we lived and we still have all our stuff, so we got off damned light.

    I got stuck in a giant store surrounded by scared strangers during those storms as a tornado passed directly overhead. No one hurt, thanks. Remind me never to try and buy antacids in a hurry. It was rather interesting to see the skylight bump up and down overhead and snow large dust flakes through the bedding aisle. A lot of people here lost their homes and cars and things; a bunch of people in Tennessee, Arkansas and Alabama died. And for some reason some guy at FoxNews called me twice for an interview, even though I didn't see anything or suffer any damage.

    @johnjones please repost or relink the pictures.

    So, yeah, I know what you mean. Elections and polls are kind of insignificant after that.

    Good luck to us both for living through intact. I've been watching a story on Headline News about an 11-month old baby blown several hundred feet and surviving with minor injuries.

    I saw. Things are slowly getting back to normal in town, but's a shitload of rubble everywhere still.
